Where do you put things?

Ok where do I put my own ringtones and notification sounds? I don't see an option for "browse" which is strange.

Good info in this thread: http://community.sprint.com/baw/thread/24629?tstart=0

Make sure your id3 tags are up to date.

Also check out Astro file manager for manipulation of files FROM the phone.

Nice thanks clicked for ya!

Interesting but confusing info.

He lists his file structure as;

media >
Audio >
Alarms
Music
Ringers
Notifications

But then says (QUOTE) Hi, no DCIM is just used to show you that you were in the right place to begin folder creations. DCIM, media & music should all be in the root of the SDCard, ringtones, alarms and notifications should be under the media folder.

Re: Where do you put things?

Here's the way I read...

/sdcard/DCIM (pictures/videos)
/sdcard/media/ringtones (ringtones here)
/sdcard/media/alarms (alarms here)
/sdcard/media/notifications (notifications here)
/sdcard/music (music here)

You're right, it wasn't stated clearly.

I'm gathering that Android will scan for appropriate music files throughout the SD card (having good ID3 tags a must), and the creation of the music folder is just convenience for "user" organization.

Mine works fine using this structure.

Thanks, that's the way I interpreted it too. How about "video or videos" I have one in root as well.
