Re: Returned the hero for a moment
I just did the same thing for some self-serving reasons. I had the Hero for about a week, and loved it, but..it does lag out quite often, and even with the 2.0 upgrade, I don't see much of a future with it, as the processor is outdated. The Hero is leaps and bounds better than my diamond, and I like android much more than winmobile.
As I said, self-serving reasons...my wife loved the moment. This is her first step into smart-phones. She's a bit overwhelmed, but she will get the hang of it in no time. From what I noticed in the couple hours of playing with it, is it is very quick. Where there is a 3-5 second delay switching to landscape mode on the Hero, the moment is instantaneous. The Sense UI is pretty, but really has little functionality over the vanilla android. I wasn't all that impressed with the Heros 5.0 megapixel camera. The couple of pics I took with the moment seemed to be pretty good, but I have yet to upload those to see them full-size. The flash on the camera is awesome.
Now to the self-serving motive. Verizon released the droid today, and I got a chance to play with it for a few minutes while in best-buy. Nothing really floored me about it, except when it came to opening apps...whoa. No lag at all. With that said, I am married to Sprint, but I do expect them to have something in the near future to compete with the droid, so I decided to hold off in hopes of what comes next. In the mean time, my wife is happy, and all is well.=D>
