Getting voice mail notifications to show up

Hello,

I have recently gotten my Samsung Moment working on my Sprint SERO account. Since no android phones can be used on these plans under normal circumstances, I assumed the visual voice mail may not work because the phone would not be properly provisioned/actived to use it. But it also seems that normal voice mail notifications (i assume are achieved using sms) are no longer being received when someone leaves me a voice mail.

As a result, I have to check my voice mail periodically because I wouldnt know if someone left one or not. Is there a way to enable seeing the normal voice mail notifications? Or even using visual voice mail (Voicemail app) if possible in this situation (i tried one suggestion of sending vmail to activate@sprint.vvm.com).

Any help or point in the right direction would be appreciated.
