here it is i'm running 2.1 dd10 v6 with joeys recovery and root all you have to do is go into the market and download (barnicle wifi tethering app)install and your done works very good to plus its free.

I can only connect as an ad-hoc network, not as a wifi hotspot. The tether app for rooted 1.5 worked for me. Any suggestions?

when i connect i get limited access.....any idea why?

What version root do you have? I'm guessing that some of the changes in v6 are required to make this work. I'll give it a go at lunch as this would be very exciting indeed. I was just considering going back to 1.5 for this very feature.

UPDATE: I went ahead and installed it and it failed to start using v5 root. So I updated to v7 root and it starts successfully and looks like it's working. My ipod sees the network and connects to it, but barnacle shows no clients connected and no internet is passed. Hmmm.

Today, multiple forums have had someone on them saying this works. Yet no one has offered any details or proof of it. I've been working on it along with barnacle's creator and some other kind souls for more than a week. If anyone can get it to work on the Moment with 2.1, I'd love to hear details. Detailed details.

Please note the depths we've gone to in order to get it to work. Down to recompiling wpa_supplicant and manually setting up networking, and also hacking in a tun.ko from the spica to see if we can get OpenVPN to traverse the link. The Moment is able to send, but not receive data using barnacle. That's why you associate, but get nothing.

One more edit: Part of v6/7 root was one of my attempts to get it going, as well as improve root access.
