To save a picture that was sent via MMS
Long press on the picture this will make a menu appear, then click on COPY ATTACHED TO SD CARD...

To forward the message
Long press for menu and click FORWARD

Yeah, I did see that option but thought it was not the correct one because:

a. I don't use the stock sms/mms app,
b. I couldn't believe they only gave you the option to save to the SD card,
c. I was tired and must not have felt like trying it; my bad.
