As for your wife's and her sister's Moments, I would recommend that you root them. The increase in speed performance is very noticable, the battery can last much longer with the use of cachemate and a few other apps that require you to be rooted, and you can get rid of some of the bloatware that is installed. There is a great tutorial here on how to root the Moment, if you choose to do so.

yeah dont seem to hard the pre was easy so this shoudlnt be hard lol I just dont want them to know I can do that yet haha keep them from bugging me for a bit longer. How are the custom roms for the moment?

There aren't any custom roms for the Moment, just custom kernels, AFAIK. From what I have read on a couple of other forums, that is because Samsung uses a proprietary file system, which makes it more difficult to make roms for.

As for kernels, there is Zeife, Joey and Speedrabbit. All seem to good, according to those that have flashed them.

Not sure if it means anything, but the Sprint page for Moment updates says it was last updated 03/30/10. Unfortunately there is no update yet.

just looked at her phone and now thiers an android update option wasnt thier the other day so I now it just appeared (did her prl update for her a couple of nites ago)

i think it's been there since the cl14 update...

menu > settings > about phone > system updates
