Now I just have to get the rom to load. Threw the rabbit zip on the sd card but the install gets aborted due to it can't open /cache/recovery/command. I was having an easier time with Odin and win7-64....haha.

Although I don't really care for the boot logo, I like SpeedRabbit's... I changed the boot logo though :)

That's where I was leaning, but I can't get either rom to load. from the recovery start I get an error of "E:Can't open /cache/recovery/command" and it aborts the install. Is it looking for a file that's not in that folder?

I switched to SpeedRabbit using Caulkins builds. Zefie was nice, and ran good, but he apparently bumped up the graphics power which caused little vertical lines to randomly flash on the screen when browsing the web, or doing graphic intensive things. It got a little annoying so I switched. SpeedRabbits is great so far.

I have a question...

When removing the useless apps, why are re "redirecting" them to the storage card?

Wouldn't it make more sense just to use the "rm" command to remove them completely?

I mean the tutorial gave us instructions on how to backup our applications and system, so if we remove something bad...we COULD just restore from recovery mode...

Ok...I found out you actually DON'T have to use a command if you don't want to store the .apk on your SD CARD (there is NO point in doing so)
Using "connectbot"

Type "SU" press enter...this is the SuperUser command

Type "remount rw" press enter...this allows the file system to be open not only for reading but also rewriting so you CAN remove the app.

Type "rm name_of_app.apk" this is the remove command as superuser for the application that you want to uninstall.

...if you are done, TYPE "remount ro" this is the command that returns the file system to a READ ONLY state...this is a security issue and should ALWAYS be done.

LASTLY...Type "reboot" this commands applies the settings back, again...this one is pretty important

for backup purposes only
if you just delete files and your phone starts acting funny you don't have away to replace the file you deleted unless you back it up first
when you get your phone acting right, then you can delete your backups

it's only given as away to backup your apps, they won't run

Right, but...my point was that "IF" you follow the instructions on the first page exactly the way they were written, you would have your data AND system files already backed up. So why back them up twice and create more work for yourself.

I do see the point of better being safe than sorry...and it was only a suggestion for ease of use.

True, people will tend to experiment and go their own direction, remove some app that isn't listed just to see if they can, which I encourage... can't learn anything if you don't try something on your own :)
I'm just providing a safe method for the undaring few
