wow i did that and no apk file was extracted. i dont know if its me or what? do you mind if i send you a message with the link to see if possibly its me?

You can use Astro whgich is what i use, or you could use titanium backup. Both great options.

cant find the astro but the titanium is for rooted phones. do you know of any other free ones that back up the apps?

There are some free alternatives, I just spent .99 cents to buy Sprite for Android located here
