that happens to my phone often
this is what I do to fix that problem
Unplug the USB cable from the phone
Power off the phone
Reboot the phone
After it comes up completely plug the USB cable in and hopefully this will resolve your issue.
As I said this happens to me on several occasions.

I like the Hero better myself. I've used both (and many other phones) and the Hero wins in pretty much every department. Sense is more than just a home screen. It adds multitouch features and a new libraries for widgets, not to mention some software tweaks that improve battery life and responsiveness. The hero SIP is phenominal, but i guess you guys can get a hold of that from somewhere. Overall, the build quality of the Hero is much much higher in my opinion, and the faster processor serves as a placebo on the moment more than anything. The Hero also feels significantly less...."No thats not a brick in my pocket, its a big-ass phone"ish. I also prefer the trackball and physical menu, back, and home buttons. The Hero is also rooted which, to my knowledge, is not possible on the moment. This opens up some awesome possibilities (Like my phone running 2.1 right now) but to each his own, i guess.

Have a few questions for you
Can you give me a step by step to rooting the Samsung Moment?
What are the benefits of rooting our phones?

I see A LOT of info about rooting, haven't really found a good step-by-step guide though or what are the greatest added benefits.

For me, getting rid of the Sprint bloatware (NFL, Sprint TV, Sprint Navigation, Voice Suite, etc) was enough. But there are other good reasons to root as well...

Give me a couple more hours, I am working on a tutorial to root with and without the CL14 update. I will try to get it posted before I leave work today...

Make sure you put in there how to hard factory reset using the buttons, saved my butt!

It's in there. But hopefully, with an improved tutorial (compared to the PM that I sent you), that option will not be needed.
