I got the same error you did. went to a stock CL14 update. Put the rabbit zip in the root SD directory, did the recovery startup then "apply sdcard:update.zip by hitting send. Get the same error and installation aborted.

Feel like I'm just missing something.

I got the same error when trying to apply the Zefie-based Rom. After a bunch of messing around with formatting my sd card, I was still getting the error, so I tried to update with the SpeedRabbit-based rom and that one flashed right away.

I did have a couple of quirks with it, such as MyBackup not being able to complete restoring my apps, and a weird glitch with the screen resolution changing when coming back to the home screen from another app. I went into settings and enabled animation in the display section and that seemed to take care of the problem.

I also had a problem with the Market not showing my protected paid apps. This was resolved after I installed one of those from a backup on my sd card and then used aTrackDog to look for updates. After I updated the program through the Market the rest of the protected paid apps showed up in the My Downloads section of the Market

Since then I've flashed Burst's Leo theme, from the SDX-Developers forum, on top of this and it seems to be working pretty well so far, although I do have two Advanced Launchers now as the theme seems to have replaced Home with Advanced Launcher which kept my Home setup, including my BetterCut direct dial shortcuts.

I know of that setting however it is not what I am looking for. Home is not needed ever....and auto is too sensitive to my location and sticks with sprint in places where it should just switch and save me time, effort, and battery life.

Where I live I get 2 bars of service, but if I go inside my house I have 1 to 0 bars. Therefore what happens is of course the phone wants to struggle its life out to get that one bar (my battery dies in like 3 hours) and by the time the bar hits 0 it doesn't leave enough time to attach to a roaming tower and bounces back to 1 bar. will this cause any issues with the 2.1 update that will be coming out soon, will i be able to update OTA or will i have to have a utility to do it?

V1.1 will be up shortly that is more of a complete ROM, so no more need to flash the CL14 update unless you want to restore the kernel & recovery console and this will prevent some issues some are having

OK - I am a complete NOOB...

I just got my moment yesterday...

I only have a G5 MAC so rooting is not an option nor is running the Sprint utility to get back to stock after doing this...

What are my options to get back to stock after flashing this ROM in order to get the 2.1 update should it ever be released...?

...And since I haven't really added anything to the phone do I need to do a backup? I have some pictures and music but they are on the SD card and won't be messed with under this process, correct?

I just posted a stock Sprint CL14 in zip form, so you can now revert back to stock without the utility even tho, I personally think the 2.1 update will install fine over a rooted phone.

As for your pics & music, the sdcard is not touched during the flash, so everything will stay there

hey calk i am having a small problem when i restore i cant rotate the home screen and i dont know how to enable it so what can i do??

The Stock CL14 in zip is not downloading... It is pointing to Zefie's version of your ROM
