Intrepid GSM Carrier Locked

Has anyone successfully gotten this phone to work on a foreign GSM network, with either a Sprint SIM or a non-Sprint SIM? I've tried both, for days, without success. Both SIM's work when put in a different GSM phone (e.g. a Nokia RM-303 that I got from the office here).

Any ideas? I chose the GSM unlock function, without any effect.

i had the phone working with SIMs from both Hong kong and china before...no problem at all....if u r using SIM...u dont need to worry about the msid...if you phone is unlock, just put in your SIM it should work...u might need to change the service setting to GSM instead of automatic...

Update-- it worked fine with the Sprint SIM in Paris on my way home. So now I'm left to wonder if it would've worked with my Airtel SIM in India if I had tried one more time before I left.

Please can i have the msl # to unlock my phone?
Sprint customer service are idiots, arrogant, the worst i ever encountered
they denied me the msl code!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey guys, am also having a problem with samsung intrepid. A friend gave me his intrepid since he has chaged his carrier from Sprint to at&t to take advantage of iphone. I have been trying to unlock this phone for weeks now but unsuccessful in doing that. I even tried to buy the unlock code online but they have to refund my money to me because they couldn't generate the codes. One big problem is the intrepid doesn't have imei on it like other phones but rather has a DEC and HEX numbers and I don't know which of them will work as the imei. Since am not a sprint customer I don't think they will be ready to give me the unlock code. Can anyone help me in getting the code to unlock the phone or there is any help that will be fine.

I was able to get my MSL code from account services without any problem.

JUST CALL CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU GUYS. PERIOD. When they asked why I just said because I want it and he was like oh, ok.

If you want, just tell them your going to the bahamas for something. If your phone is blacklisted (which I think is the prob for many of you, and you just want to turn around and put it on a gsm network) I have come to the conclusion it's impossible with this device; Samsung Intrepid SPH-I350 , let me know if anyone has discovered a work around

OK folks its in the thread but here it is again.. just for the record.....

You have to have the MSL.. dont bother sprint, unless you want your plan farged up....

anyway.. best way to get MSL is provision ANY other phone on your acct via the web.. then provision this phone back on your acct.. when you do so, the web will give you the secondary lock code to program your phone.. thats the msl..

now to get your phone working with any sim card..

go to these settings... (just love winders don't ya)

This is from the home screen:

hit the winders I mean windows key.. then,

settings,personal,phone, then on the bottom tabs Security......

there is a big button marked "SIM Lock" push the button.
It will ask you for the security code USE THE MSL.

phone reboots.. it works with ATT I just verified while writing this howto.

enjoy the unlocked phone... It will only get 2g service in the US (128k) data.

Was able to successfully SIM unlock my Intrepid. Thanks to everyone on the thread.
