The cost of upgrading to the EPIC for me

Trying to decide if i upgrade to the Epic from the TP2. im still not fully decided because im waiting to see actual consumer comments on it. what will come out after it. I know HTC has to come out with a Full qwerty keyboard for Sprint atleast by the end of this year ready for the holidays.
But the real reason why im not decided yet is because TP2 works perfect it does everything i need when im out the office and for personal use Epic would just be more of a want than a need also because of the following

Sprint Tp2 on boost Sprint Epic 4g (contract )
$50 Mnth Unlimited $80 Mnth
x12 Mnths x12 Mnths
-------- -----------
$600 $960 = $360 more a year plus let say the phone cost $200 with a new contract

Re: The cost of upgrading to the EPIC for me

You can get things like 10-27% off and some people claimed to have gotten $10 credit for 2 years to offset the $10 fee...

Like what could get me 27% off, i know of one that is i have to open up a business account and purchase the phone that way hopefully it doesnt cost me more than normal and if i open the business account i can get 18% without a question.

It should be cheaper thow by the holidays especially after thanksgiving sales

Re: The cost of upgrading to the EPIC for me

A lot of your choice has to do with your financial situation and your prioritization. I know for me, gadgets come first because they make me happy and I use them sooo much that a couple of hundred bucks over the course of a year is relatively nothing because of how many hours of functional use the phone will get. This of course is in relative opposition to the fact that I don't prioritize things like good food into my budget

Re: The cost of upgrading to the EPIC for me

there is no way I'm paying them $10 extra a month for a feature that I can't use. I've been on sprint for 12 years so they will probably bend for me. Also there is verbage saying that they are changing the discount for add ons.

yeah same here. that's why i didn't fall in line for the Evo when it came out. although there was a week or 2 of major phone envy going on...but i held my ground!..lol. not saying that i won't ever go to the phones (or future phones) that will have this extra monthly fee, because eventually i will. but that time would be when my home area has the 4g coverage. for now...i can live with my tp2 and bb tour. the last phone i had was a dumb(flip)phone and i hung on to that like a crack addict holding a crack pipe....until it gave out on me and forced me to re-up my contract...LOL.

Re: The cost of upgrading to the EPIC for me

I've been off-contact for other a year and in that time, I've gone through a couple moguls, 3 or 4 touch pros, and 2 touch pro 2's without paying for anything. I might end up getting my 3rd tp2 before the epic comes out. My 2 week old tp2 refurb is FREAKING out on me. hate this phone.
