Thumbs down Re: Rumors of Release Dates

The Samsung Galaxy I7500 sports a 5-megapixel camera with LED flash and autofocus. Come to multimedia, the Samsung Galaxy I7500 fails to deliver more than the HTC Magic or T-Mobile G1 do. The Galaxy I7500 doesn’t sport FM radio, but the lack can be overcome as easily as listening to music online. User do not have any major gripes concerning the overall speed of the Samsung Galaxy I7500. user's final verdict is that Samsung has not done its best with the Galaxy I7500. However, it still packs a good workmanship, beautiful AMOLED display and decent 5-megapixel camera. It is expected that it will get a simultaneous release in 110 countries in next 3 months.

You are getting your information mixed up..the Samsung Galaxy I7500 is NOT the Samsung Galaxy S....

Samsung Galaxy I7500 is the Samsung Moment..which is an old sprint phone...(or at least the international version of it)

The Samsung Galaxy S is Samsung Galaxy I9000....and is currently the has best hardware that has been released to this date.

Regardless of the 16GB microSD, having such little internal memory is retarded! The amount of internal storage in a smartphone is still important for some people even with the proliferation of external storage in many devices, even at the very low-end of the spectrum. For example, until the Froyo upgrade is available, apps on the Android platform can only be installed to internal storage and not to the memory card, making the internal storage capacity on an Android smartphone a very important factor. 1GB is nothing.

Chances are we will have a custom Froyo rom a week or 2 after it is released...but a few extra GB wouldn't have hurt :/

Re: Rumors of Release Dates

Hey all -
I just received an email this morning from Sprint's EVP (Employee Value Plan) rep and she says,
Quote:
"I wanted to let you know of a few new exciting Sprint devices hitting the market this month!"
followed shortly by
Quote:
"The Samsung EPIC™ 4G (coming soon), is the next 4G Android phone by Sprint. The EPIC™ breaks through with a mobile entertainment experience like nothing you’ve ever seen. It’s the first QWERTY phone with a ridiculously clear Super AMOLED 4” display and blink-and-you’ll-miss-it 4G speeds."
So in theory, that means the Epic 4G will be out by the end of July if I'm reading it correctly and assuming my EVP rep is 'in-the-know'. Plus, given Sprint's somewhat well-known history of releasing big devices on a Sunday (Evo and Pre) I'd wager the 25th is their targeted date.
Thought I'd pass along this info for anyone wanting a bit of intel on the release date.

Re: Rumors of Release Dates

I just called Sprint telesales and asked when the Epic is coming out. She put me on hold for a bit and then came back and said that they do not have an exact date but she believes it will be out later this month.

I hope your right, I had a web chat with Sprint earlier today with " Agent (Adam K) " and got a form letter that made me sad, "Sprint will announce pricing for the Samsung Epic in the coming months. Meanwhile you can learn about the advanced features of this new device and signup to receive updates at www.sprint.com/epic."

Notice how it said coming months...

This really burns me up because if this is true, it should SHIP with Froyo and not Eclair.
