If you had followed the info on this phone over at XDA, you would realize that it has always been rootable with every update. The nice thing about Samsuung is that even IF you loose root with an update, you can just re-root. Samsung does not take an active interest in locking out the power user the way HTC does.

You can find tons of info over at XDA. Most of what you read here is just echoed from there.
