Silent camera sound

Is there away to silence the camera shutter sound on the GS3?

Stock, non rooted. don;t want to instal 3rd party apps like Silent camera ot the other 4 variations of it that I found. Too many bgus in it.

If anyone knows the name of the sound used and can point me in the direction to remove it or change it to a different sound, would be greatly appreciated.

Its likely a file in the system/media/audio/ui folder. You would need root permissions to change or delete a file in that folder.
