Re: oem vs ext?

I don't really see any difference. The same info is all there, just a little different format. Old style kitchen vs. Visual Kitchen.

Re: oem vs ext?

OEM packages have all the files and modules in one folder.

EXT packages have reg and initflash info in the root folder and all other files in a sub-folder named files. EXT packages don't have/use .dsm or option.xml files.

Re: oem vs ext?

another thing is with platformrebuilder, some provxmls do not get processed properly in EXT's, but in OEM they work fine.

Re: oem vs ext?

ok with that being said how do i go about pulling a oem from a shipped rom?

i found a shipped rom that contains the following oems packages i want to use:

Manila_Programs=2_6_19192728_0
Manila_Message=2_6_19221224_0
HTCMessaging_Client=1_2_19222231_00 (leo is 1_15)
Task_Manager=2_1_19212822_21

is also has these but we dont need them using cdma:
Phone_Canvas_Enhancement=4_3_61119213631_1 (video call support!)
Video_Telephony=2_5_36605_0

they are all wvga i mostly want manila programs so i can try to get the 2.1 start menu working on 2.5!!
i found a package that works(2.1 manilla start menu like) but its in vga
