**IMPORTANT NOTICE** The ROM Cease and Desist Letters

To our fellow ROM Chefs, Developers, Cooks, Etc.

If you have received a letter (Like our own MightyMike) that states a Cease and Desist Takedown of your ROM Content from your ISP, host, etc. then PLEASE DO READ ON!

As of March 2009, we, the dedicated members of the XDA-Developers, PPCGeeks, and any other communities have been harassed, abused, and denied our free right to create media through custom ROM development. This has been proven, announced by Microsoft, and said again and again to be an outright hoax, but it doesn't stop us from being slowed down by unintelligent ISPs and Web Hosters, who fail to read the fine print (DNS/WHOIS Lookups, confirming with Microsoft, etc.) and lead us to having our sites taken down without prior notice.

Ladies and gentlemen, this has gone far too long. I have notified the registrar holder for immediate takedown of microsoft-piracy.com and subsequent legal action taken.

If anyone is with me, I need help

First off, if you have EVER received such a hoax letter, email, etc. I'd be so happy as for you to email me it (PM me for the address.) NetworkSolutions (The Registrar holder) has received MightyMike's C&D letter. But if they ask for others i want to be prepared.

Second, spread the word. Tell people its a hoax, notify hosting companies to lookup the Registrar information, and give links to sites stating the hoax status of the email/letter.

Lastly, I would like to know if you are willing to sign a petition for any necessary legal action necessary to be taken upon this pseudonym "James Young"

P.S. I will accept any critics who think this is not a joke. I have plenty of reasons to show why its a complete joke.

Just an idea, but if Microsoft isn't wanting to shut the site down wouldn't Microsoft like to know that "James Young" is claiming to be an investigater for Microsoft. If I was Microsoft I would be looking toward legal action against James Young to. Just my opinion

first and foremost is having him take down via the website and emails. getting microsoft involved would be overkill since the subject is still very "gray area"
