pls post a tutorial on how to create ringtones

Hello Grupe,

Could some one pls post how to create ringtones and with directions on how to use the app they chose to use. I have seen several people use Acid pro and Audacity. I haven't tried Audacity but I can not bump my head against the wall any more trying to figure out Acid Pro. I think a user mentioned ctrl+m but so far after dragging the song into the track field.......I get lost. I tried, I'm spent, I now have a headace. My headache has met a different headache on the other side of my head and now they eloped and I got a bunch of little headaches. Pls some one give me a life line or something.

Thanks for the assist.

Well, the easy answer for Audacity is to just open it, go to 'file open', and select the audio file you want to edit. then highlight the sections you don't want and go to 'edit: cut'. Once you have the section you want, save it and there's your ringtone. Obvously there's more to the program, but really that's all you need to know.

Only other thing people might want to know is the encoding used to minimize file size. Or the pros/cons of using mp3 vs. aac.

If you just cut the original file and then save. Your file size will most likely be several MB, when you would rather minimize the file to KB.
