how can I change this color from green to gray or black?

To also change the enlarged start menu and the taskmanager. Those are reg tweaks..

HKLM\Software\HTC\EnlargeMenu
edit ManiliaCustomHlDown and ManilaCustomHlUp (you can vary the color degree to give it a gradient look by using two slightly off colors)

For the taskmanager edit
HKCU\Software\HTC\TaskManager
same two keys

Use this website and use the "access code" numbers rather than hex/decimal and you'll have the exact colors without error.

i see you can change the enlarged start menu color but i dont use that one is there a setting for the regular start menu thanks

the regular start menu is governed by your today screen tsk file.. or you can use UITweaker (search for this free program) or BaseHueExpress (also free program) to adjust system colors. Also you can use a tsk theme maker to create your own including the background of the menu.

Thanks Darren, I'm going crazy with all your today screen shots.. you must change them 10x a day! I get yelled at for changing mine every few weeks... but probably cause I complain to b/f loudly when I mess up and i have to mess up things before I get it right!
