Re: Blue and Red Fire theme(comm, manila, dialer)

i kinda wish i would have thought about this earlier, yesterday i just aqcuired a program that can take screen shots... ive already started a restore otherwise i would take one... it looks like the buttons are tryin to show up on top of the previous screen, however never actually finish, you can see the borders but there is nothing inside of them except the previous screen. the "talk" button shows up, the "end" doesnt. previously i had a cab that removed the top curtain, one that allowed me to change what the banner in the top left said, tsowentaskbar3v1.3 and wraith slider icons.

hmm, I installed the cab over my exsisting dialer, I guess there is a chance that the xml that sets all the registry paths to the graphics might not be running, I don't know why it would not error though, hmm. anyone else have the same issue? buttons not showing up?

Re: Blue and Red Fire theme(comm, manila, dialer)

New user/noob question here.

I am really diggin the black background with the flames and was trying to get it to install the cabs but couldnt get it to work, it kept saying the install failed.

I then tried to install the OEMs directly under the windows tab on the phone as another user said and that didnt do anything either. I've installed cabs before, and thought it was pretty easy, but these ones are kicking my butt.

I am trying to follow the procedure that was laid out by Goodthings2life here but I fail, any tips for a noob install? The cleanup posted in the linked thread are the cabs and only other mods I have on the phone.

hmm, maybee it has to do with stock rom security policies, not sure though. maybee try just copying all the _manila files and a png's into your windows directory manually, if all are copied, there is no reason it should not work. lemme know

Re: Blue and Red Fire theme(comm, manila, dialer)

i know this is commonly overlooked when messing with TF3D, so i will say it anyway. Have you disabled TF3D from the today items list before trying to install or copying any files? If TF3D is currently running the system cant access those files...

I sure did. Good call though.

Dan-
In regards to the copying into the windows directory, will anywhere do or should I put it in a specific place from there? I tried just dragging and dropping the files you mentioned and nothing happened after the reset. When I go in and click them I just get an error. Thanks for the noob patience guys. I'm really wanting to flash a mighty mike or juggalo rom but if I want to get better with the basic stuff first. Are there any differences between the cabs you posted and the cabs i referenced from GoodThings2Life's cleanup?

hmm, not sure what's going on now.... what files are you trying to execute, maybee give me full filenames including extensions, with with _manila files, they just go in the windows dir, and you enable manila in today options. with the commanager, if you don't already have a commanager installled, you have to install via cab, or the nessesary registry items might not be in place, and finally, with the dialer, this has to be installed via cab as well, unless you already have the same dialer with a different theme. with .cab's, just put them anywhere on your device, including storage card, and install to device.

Right on, I dont have a commanager, only extras I have installed is the cleanup I linked earlier. I will try and find one tonight after work, any suggestions on a solid one? I'll do a search when I get off.
