So I had to replace my HTCVolumeControl.dll in OMJ's 2.00 Diamond ROM because the replacement prevented TF3D from crashing when rotating the screen. I used this one: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showpost.p...postcount=1097 and it seems to have worked but it changes my volume icon from the one in tsowentaskbar2 (what OMJ cooks into his ROM) to the one in tsowentaskbar (the gray one). Is there a way to find out what was changed in that HTCVolumeControl.dll to fix the rotation issue and put it in all of the volume icons or at least the tsowen2 one so that it'll again match the rest of my icons? I'm also afraid if I run a .cab to change my icons to another set that i'll lose the fix the .dll I posted has fixed.

Yes, it is in shellres.192.dll. If you are wanting to change/replace the icon, you need to go to the Icon Folder. Then go to Folder 30, replace there and it will automatically replace it in 4673 under the Icon Group folder.

Attachment 22401I have attached my shellres.192.dll for you. I just tested it with three missed notifications (SMS, email, missed call). My multi-alert icon works correctly, so you can try mine.

Also hoping that misfortune shares his icons or dlls soon. [-o<

EDIT: Removed dll file because it had an old multi-mesage alert...not the one I expected, "the mail bag". I could re-post a multi-message alert, however the problem is that the dll file includes the Start icon that I use, and others may not want it. If someone needs help fixing, let me know and I will try to meet your requirement. Thanks.

Yeah I did the same, Juggalo says he knows where it is for sure, so I've been waiting and hoping. I read in a thread one time at XDA they could change it but it would only take black/white colors but we have proved them wrong over here just like with the notification where they said it couldn't be changed and we did it.

That's what was reported at XDA but as you found out we have changed it and no crashes.

If the Icon is in a dll or a simple bmp like the bluetooth icons we can find it, it can be changed.

Ali check to see if you have the shellres.192.dll or the shellres.192.dll.0409.mui they are the same files. If you have she shellres.192.dll.0409.mui then rename the shellres.192.dll that he gave you to shellres.192.dll.0409.mui and then it will work.

Has anyone PM'd Juggalo to get his info? I don't mind digging through dll's, but if he knows something the rest of us don't...

Anyway, I'll be taking a look at this as best I can today. My son's daycare is closed with a broken central heating system, so I get to chase a 22 month old today. At least I'll get some exercise...:mrgreen:

Ok, the 'X' button may be in the taskmgrCustRes.dll. if someone want's to give it a shot. Here's the dll. It has not been unsigned yet...

Alright, I've begun to get a lot of requests for my icons and such, so I decided to throw this together. Included is a rar of all the dll's. If someone would like to make a cab out of it for me, that would be great and I will edit the post to include that as well. Hope you guys like it!

Yes you can the icon is 32x32, just follow the same steps as always, unsign the mui, edit and save then resign.

Yeah I posted this under the FAQ portion of the first page. The Diamond and other devices comes with the shellres.192.dll.0409.mui where the Touch Pro comes with the shellres.192.dll both are identical just different names. This is why on here and at XDA some people would install my cab and not have the custom Start icon and some others so I would have them rename there shellres.192.dll.0409.mui to shellres.192.dll.0409.mui.bak and then soft reset this way allowing it to read my shellres.192.dll that was installed with the cab. Then you can delete the .bak one.

ALi, I apologize the dll file I provided you earlier in the day was older and didn't have the "bagged" Multi-Alert as I thought. Let me know if you want that one. Also, keep in mind that it will change your start icon by changing this dll. Not sure what you want as your start icon.

Use TC to transfer it into the /Windows directory or through Active Sync. Sometimes File Explorer will not overwrite. Also make sure that the bluetooth is turned off when you are replacing the .bmp's

I've gone through all 27 of the 'HTC' labeled dll files, (yes, my eyes are starting to cross...) and came up with a whole lot of noting except for the htcStartMenuService.dll that has the generic icons in it for the start menu. That was the most interesting find...

Only 3 other dll's had icons associated with them, one of which is for the old Vogue HTC Home. I've included all 4 inthe zip file. The other 2 that I found, I'm not really sure what they go to, as I don't recall ever seeing these pop up before. FYI: I haven't unsigned any of these yet.

Hi everybody,

I've installed tsowen 3V1.3 on a GSM HTC Diamond, and it's perfect in the taskbar.

I've got only problems with the state screen. It seems that it tries to resize icons to fit the right size so it is really unperfect:

Same problem with other icons than the notify one.

I've tried to change the DLL with higher and lower size or resolution in the icon group, no way !

How can I have the grey icon in the taskbar and the original black/white in state panel ?

I think I need someone to double check my work on the HTC Start Menu Icons. The dll unsigned without any problems, switching out and saving the new icons went smoothly, and they signed correctly. Only one problem, when I went back in to double check the icons, Icon 5 was distorted, and icons 6-8 were reporting as corrupted. I've included my original dll, as well as both modified ones if anyone can back check me to make sure I didn't screw up somewhere...

Oh, I tried swapping the icons out with both PE Explorer and Reshack. Same error.

Did you replace the background of the large title bar with the HTCLTC.png files on both mine and Igotgame's posts on this? That will eliminate the icon artifact you are seeing.

Here's the link to my post. Download the Block Large Title Bar zip. Youcan discard the dll (for some reason my version doesn't do well on the Diamond). All you need are the 2 HTCLTB png files in the zip. Put both into your Windows file, soft reset and this should be dealt with for you.

Well because you are making the .dll larger because of the quality of the images what you have to do is unsign it, then open it in PE Explorer and go to Data Directories, click on Certificate Table and set it to Zero then save. Open it in ResHacker since you are changing the depth of the images and PE Explorer don't like this haha... and change the icon's out then save and sign. Once you did the above the first time and saved it you will not have to do it in the future when changing out the imahes because you changed it the first time. If you ever get the message "Error: Signing Failed. Result = 80070057, (-2147024809)" when signing this is your problem and you need to do the method above. What this does is detroy the security table so you can sign it again.

Never used restorator before. I didn't have a problem replacing the images, it would just give me the error when I went to sign them. Typically when you get this error its because your certificate table is corrupt because you have changed the size of the .dll so you have to destroy the table by setting it to Zero to resign it. Either way good work all around. You guys keep up the good work, we really are making huge leeps here with the amount of changes we are doing to the Windows Mobile Platform look. XDA is normally known for there developing but with you guys I would say we have been far more advance over, so I would like to say thanks for everyones input here. Its a shame that HTC/Sprint or Miscrosoft don't put better quality stuff in there product. Imagine if your phone came "stock" with all of these custom images instead of the standard black/white or low quality images.

Now if we can just fine that freaken ok/close haha but it will come just like the CDMA network icons and all the other ones we couldn't find we eventually found them.

HTC Start Menu Services Icons

This dll will change the Today, Settings, and Programs Icons on your Start Menu. I have two versions, One matches Tsowen's Taskbar 3, the other will work with several of the other task bar versions posted here. This definitely works for QVGA, but it should work for VGA as well. I would like to get a couple of victims, I mean, guinea pigs with VGA devices to give both files a try, and either PM or post here what the results are. Thanks!
