Simplicity

Amateurish, but it suits me fine. I alternate between this and poorlyduck's vista suite.

Lots of compression artifact from my screen capture program.

I made this for myself for my Touch. Only graphics were changed so 911, ##**#, smartdial, etc should work fine.

It is a work in progress and thus has it's limitations. First, to achieve the icons look on the progress page (second screen), i disabled the text on those buttons through a registry key. However, the text normally change after you hang up reflecting a change in its function. On my version, the icons stay the same even though the function is changed. For me I never use those functions but for others it may be a big deal. For example, the top left button on the progress page is the speakerphone button. After you hang up, the text is normally changed to Call History, reflecting the change in its function to Call History. However on mine the icon remains the same (speakerphone) even though the function has changed to Call History.

Also, no landscape mode although others could develop this part of it.

lastly, i haven't developed a press down look for it, so when you press the button the "down" look is taken from PoorlyDuck's vista dialer.

here are my graphic files. Again it is made for Sprint Touch but may work with other phones with Touch layout but I can only guarantee it works with sprint touch. To install, if you know how to back up all dialer files in \windows then just copy the files into the \windows directory and overwrite, then soft reset. However, if you don't know how to back up your original files first, and you have a Sprint Touch, i HIGHLY suggest you look for a dialer call Polen Vista dialer, which can be found here on PPC geeks, and has an uninstaller. After you install that, you can overwrite my files onto \windows directory. this way if you don't like it you can "uninstall" Polen vista dialer and you will be back at your default dialer.

After you copy my files, you will need to make this registry change to get rid of the text on the Progress page:

HKLM/Security/Phone/Skin/PROGRESS/Portrait (Landscape)/VerbButton/textFlags = 1024(decimal)
remember to backup your default value

feel free to modify this for your own use or phone or put it in a cab. (especially if you come up with a "pressed down" look for the buttons) But please post your results.

Edit: Did my own button "down" look and reposted. MyPhone.zip should be about 422k in size.
