Re: Some Ultimate Mobile Shell Themes ( Updated 10/1/08 )

Hey everyone i have a question to ask yall. I know "SEARCH" would probably help but i have done that already and still can't find a solid answer to what im looking for. I am getting the Diamond sometime this week and have always dabbled in the idea of putting themes on my PPC phones. I had the touch but never "themed" it out like i wanted to. Now i plan to do so but am wondering,

WHICH PROGRAM WOULD BE BETTER FOR THE DIAMOND? WAD or the SPB MOBILE SHELL?

After looking at these themes on here, especially the iphone theme, im literally ecstatic about the idea of being able to finally put some cool themes on my phone. Any advice or info is, like always, greatly appreciated.

It would be hard for anyone but you to answer that because it is a matter of personal preference. Both programs offer a free trial period, so when you get your phone, try them both and see which is right for you.

I personally prefer Mobile Shell, but others prefer WAD. You may want to see which skins you like for each program, just remember that they have to be made for VGA screens. You may find that most skins are for QVGA as this has been the most common resolution, but VGA seems to be getting more popular now so more skins will become available for both.

No, they are very different. Mobile Shell has a nice layout that works well for me, but is not as customizable as WAD, however I have found that Mobile Shell is pretty easy to customize once you get the hang of it. That may be true for WAD as well, I have not looked into it very much. I believe WAD has a lot more options for customizing and it seems can get a little complex.

My suggestion would be to check out the themes/skins and pick the one you like best for each product then use the free trial period to see which one you prefer. As far as any specific theme/skin, you have to use it on whichever program it was made for. The themes/skin are not interchangable.

There is also a program called ThrottleLauncher that has themes/skins for it and I believe it is a free program.

Re: Some Ultimate Mobile Shell Themes ( Updated 10/1/08 )

I'm having a problem trying to install this beautiful theme. I read the instructions on how to install it, except for one little problem. My HTC-6800 (Sprint), doesn't have a spb mobile shell default folder. What do i need to do to find the folder on my device? What do i do in order for me to install this them into my phone.....any suggestions?

You have to install SPB Mobile Shell software first, then you will have the folder and can install the skin files.

I just drag and drop and select yes to replace/overwrite.
