Drop the image you want to use in the Windows folder. Use your favorite registry editor and go to HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Splash Screen\MSBitmap and change the string value to point to the new file. Example: \windows\65welcomehead.png Then soft reset.

ok looked thru the thread and didnt find an answer to my ?

... i cant find the file for the Bell radio startup image file, and the htc smart mobility image file the first two that come up before the animated.gif.

i went thru all of the .png file in the windows root folder and nothing

does anyone know where and what those two files are called so I can change them?

what files i need...

the 1st screen that shows your radio version at startup with htc logo, and the 2nd one that is blue and just has a bell logo (radio 3.42.5)

The first two images before the startup animation are part of the ROM and can't be easily changed. If you really want to change them, try searching for "boot kitchen". Good luck.

What about HKLM/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Splash Screen/CarrierBitmap? Any string value there?

did it one time thought i would be cool and do it again now it wont work forgot what i did. dont have that full file goes as far as the windows file and dont have the rest of the file. any help out there please.
