Just noticed the post I had put up here with what I did, did not actually post. I will have to post it today when I get home.

There are a few programs out there that edit/created animated .gifs
One I use is from ULead....

Hello everyone.

Thanks for all the helpful insights! On my Touch Pro, it was fairly difficult to replace my boot screen. After creating my .png file and making hidden files visible in Resco Explorer, it still would not let me overwrite (or rather, it would act like it overwrote, but the default welcomehead file would still be there). I fixed it by changing the properties on both files through the files' submenus (press on file icon until the circle of dots completes). I changed my new file to a System file by selecting the checkbox in the properties dialog window. Then I unselected the Read-Only and Hidden checkboxes in the default welcomehead file's properties. After trying several other methods this worked.

A sidenote for owners of VGA devices: The welcomehead.192.png file is the one you need to replace. You will notice there is no welcomehead.96.png file as previously mentioned, which pertain to QVGA (quarter-VGA) devices. So for VGA devices, replace the welcomehead.192.png file with a similar file measuring 640x640 pixels, NOT the previously mentioned dimensions.

I'm including the boot screen I made for myself. Hopefully some of you will enjoy it.

The background file was created by ~love1008 of deviantART

I grabbed the Windows and HTC logos from Google image searches.

Good luck!

Also, here is the stock 640x640 used for the diamond and the pro in 6.5

The copy is another basic clean stock of the image with a little tweak:mrgreen:

Both are in jpg format so you can photochop them up. If you just want to use them as is open with paint or PS and save as jpg. Obviously it goes without saying that if you are using the second one, make sure you remove the "copy" before you use it.
