Yup, works fine and looks really great. Thanks.

On a related note, on the Sprint Touch it's also pretty easy to change (or disable) the startup animation that plays before the splash...the one that shows the glowing Sprint Logo?
Go To: HLKM\Software\HTC\StartUpAnimation\ You'll find several keys there you can play with including "Enabled" (switch to 1 or 0 based on your preference). If you keep it enabled you can use the key "GIFFile" to change the Gif used (although I simply named my animation "SPCS_startup.gif" and copied overed the original to make sure there weren't any gotcha's along the way). There's also a "DelayPerFrame" key and a ""WAVFile" key to help you customized it even more. After wasting DAYS of my life creating several differnent anims and sounds...I decided I liked getting to my Today screen as fast as possible and s-canned it all opting to disable it completely. Doh! |

Re: How to: Replace WM Splash/Boot Screen
FOR YOU GUYS HAVING PROBLEMS GETTING THE .PNG FILE TO THE WINDOWS FOLDER----------
Here is what I did. Look at your phone while it is connected to your computer. Open up My Computer\Mobile Device (or whatever it is called). Click on the My Windows Mobile-Based Device icon. Open up the Windows folder, and drag your .png file there. Windows will allow you to replace the file (example - the welcomehead.96.png). Close the folder, remove your phone from the cable, and soft reset. You will see your startup screen when it reboots. Enjoy!!! |
Re: How to: Replace WM Splash/Boot Screen
Now for a question of my own. How can you replace the Alltel and HTC screen when you boot up the phone? I found a file called HTCABOUTLOGO.bmp in the Windows folder. Is this the HTC screen that first comes up? I should try to replace it real quick, but I don't have my programs up and running. My laptop just isn't as good as my home computer!
Cheers |
Re: HOWTO: Changing Windows Mobile SPLASH screen on startup
Not sure what I am doing wrong here.
1st, when I take the old file off my phone, it says it is 320 x 320 not 240 x 320. 2nd, it says it can't replace it because it is a read only file. I have resco explorer, I try to uncheck read only, hit ok or done. go back and look at the file and it is back to read only again. So what am I doin wrong here? |
Re: HOWTO: Changing Windows Mobile SPLASH screen on startup

Re: HOWTO: Changing Windows Mobile SPLASH screen on startup

Re: HOWTO: Changing Windows Mobile SPLASH screen on startup
Ok, so I am fairly new to this...how do I get to windows directory to replace the splash w/ my custom one?? I named the file accordingly and have resco but have no clue what/where to look....and yes I searched.
Thanks |

Made my fisrt Windows Mobile splash screen, it's very simple (but when you are not good at graphic work you gotta start small)....
|
Re: How to: Replace WM Splash/Boot Screen
here is the first one I made, just remember to change the name of it to "welcomehead.96.png"
I know it's not all that special, but when you aren't very good at graphics, you kinda have to start small and work your way up :) http://comics.erichss.com/PPC/SplashScreens/Pirate1.png |
Re: How to: Replace WM Splash/Boot Screen
I just got done working on making a Windows Mobile Splash Screen for each Soul Calibur IV char.
Here's a few of them: http://comics.erichss.com/PPC/Splash...ulCal/Taki.pnghttp://comics.erichss.com/PPC/Splash...ulCal/Tira.pnghttp://comics.erichss.com/PPC/Splash...Mitsurugi2.pnghttp://comics.erichss.com/PPC/Splash...l/Sophitia.png You can grab your fav char by going to: http://comics.erichss.com/PPC/SplashScreens/SoulCal/ And remember to use them as your Splash Screen, you need to rename the file to welcomehead.96.png and replace that file in the /windows directory. |

Re: How to: Replace WM Splash/Boot Screen
My phone won't let me rename the file in the windows folder. The option is grayed out. I tried to view it on my computer but the windows file doesn't show up at all. Any ideas?

Re: How to: Replace WM Splash/Boot Screen
For some reason I got the idea to make splash screen with newer pics of classic gaming icons simply set to the background of their classic/original games.
Nothing all that hard or anything, but I thought it seemed like a good idea. Here are the first three I have done: http://comics.erichss.com/PPC/SplashScreens/Sonic.pnghttp://comics.erichss.com/PPC/Splash.../MarioBros.pnghttp://comics.erichss.com/PPC/SplashScreens/Link.png |
