Is there a way to make the skin look different if its in landscape mode?

Hey folks, I have tried to find all of these folders you guys speak of and you know, I don't see them. I made sure I looked through my whole device and a lot of the folders like the font folders - even the skins folders... And I've looked all over this device. Am I missing something?

Sounds like you are missing the rlToday program. You need to install it first to use/see the skins posted. As Pibe mentioned earlier do a simple google search to find it.

GREAT STUFF! How is sys-to-reg working out for you? I am thinking of doing a skin with a mini vista sidebar look to it as well. I am sure PPCGeeks user would love you to post some of your skins if you could!

I just asked emrym (great RLToday guy) to post a way to do this, its not very simple or extremely user-friendly but doesn't seem too hard if you follow directions!

I will be trying out emrym's sys-to-reg method soon, but let me know if you try it, how it went!

The Fonts folder is \Windows\Fonts. I am running Windows Mobile 6, and I believe it is the same for Windows Mobile 5, I never had WM2003 so can't help there, but should be the same.

For the skins, after you intall RLToday, to add a skin you drop in the entire skin folder you download or creat right into the RLToday directory folder (i.e. there is no special skins folder).

For example... if you go up and download the Touch of Vista skin I posted, unzip the file on your PC then connect your device, expolre the files on the device, navigate to \Program Files\rlToday and paste TouchOfVista folder right there.

Then Touch of Vista should appear in the rlToday options!

OOOOh dag gonnit! So I'm trapped! I don't have a PC and it seems that if I want to get intricate and learn all this intricate stuff I need a frogglenoggle PC. No rest for the Mac user!!

edit: 'k found that Windows folder but what good does it do me now?? Alas...

You can edit XML on Mac as well! Just use a text editor or html editor. As long as have access to the transfer the files to the appropriate folders on the device.

great, fuckin awesome, RL forced me to hard reset. Genius. I switch from default skin to touch of vista and it locked completely, even after soft reset.

hmm, thats wierd. I know a bunch of people who have started using that skin without any problems. I don't know what exactly in an RL Skin could force you to hard reset. The skin only displays graphic files and links to stuff already on your device.

So you went to options, switched to the VIsta skin and then when you hit ok the device locked up? And then you soft reset and it was locked up? Or did you switch the skin and then try to use one of the links?

I ask that because some of the links in my skins use Spb Mobile Shell commands so if you dont have that installed maybe that was a problem, but even so, in rlToday when you click on a dead link alert box just pops up with an error message no big deal.

In addition to that... you should always back up before you install a new application. Although the chances are slim, you never know what can happen.
