Qik question

Ok I was wondering if anyone could help me with Qik for a minute.....
I want to be able to stream live while my backlight is off, so I will be able to stream and have it look like my phone is off while im recording, ive tried screwing with all the backlight settings in my diamond, but when I turn off the screen, It stops streaming...........any Ideas on how i might do this?

P.S. sorry if this is posted in the wrong place but I couldnt find anywhere else...
