Re: Touch pro vs. Touch Pro 2??
The only improvements are/will be Windows Mobile 6.5 (official from HTC), a larger (beautiful) screen, a zoom slider instead of the dpad/circle, tilt keyboard (really nice buttons too), and a "world" phone, so you can use GSM/SIM cards. Aside from that, the internals (cpu/ram) are identical to the TP1. If you hate TP1, you will most likely hate the TP2 after the buzz wears off...that is, unless HTC releases the drivers with the 6.5 release.

Re: Touch pro vs. Touch Pro 2??
There is a huge improvement in migrating from the Mogul (or less) to the TP2 compared to the migration to the TP1 a year ago. That is because so many of the issues of the Touch Flo, etc., have already been dealt with. Coming from a finely tuned TP1 may seem like not much of an upgrade, I can imagine.

Re: Touch pro vs. Touch Pro 2??
The TP2 feels so much sturdier and somehow thinner. The keyboard stays shut and doesn't accidentally slide open in the pocket. It's faster and more fluid and the battery lasts a good 2 days. Typing on the slide-out keyboard is such a breeze!
After having the TP2 for a few weeks now, holding the TP again - the old one is now feeling cheap, plasticy, clunky & toyish. |

Re: Touch pro vs. Touch Pro 2??
I migrated from the TP1 a week ago and cannot overstate how much of a leap it feels like in terms of functionality and form. The larger screen makes a huge difference in day to day usability. The TP1 screen is very good, but I love the extra space that the TP2 provides. I like the buttons better on the TP2 then what was on the TP1. I would consistently hit incorrect buttons on the TP1 and never really liked the dpad. On the TP2, I miss the dpad, but the buttons that remain are much better. I also love the customization of the keyboard offered at XDA. I have so many shortcuts mapped to both the keyboard and the buttons (double press, long press), that I can quickly get to any function I want to much faster than I ever could on the TP1. The keyboard itself is a definite step up from the TP1 with spaced keys and a better feel. The tilting mechanism is solid. The overall hardware just feels better than the TP1.
On the software side, I've found myself using TF3 where TF2 never stuck for me on the TP1. This makes for more of an iPhone type experience that I am really enjoying and with my shortcuts mapped all over the place, I can quickly get to all of the programs I was using on the TP1. Overall a very worthy upgrade in my opinion. |

Re: Touch pro vs. Touch Pro 2??
Touch Pro 2 has a tilting screen. It allows for optimum viewing angle when typing, it allows you to easily watch a movie without holding your device, and it's great if you're using GPS navigation in the car.
