Re: iPhone users

I've been a long time WM user and I've played with several iPhones for extended periods. Obviously, neither device is perfect and both were initially aimed at different markets. The iPhone has WM beat handily in speed, reliability, software availability (games and gimmicks), browser, battery life (main), accessory availability and overall cool factor. WM, specifically the TP wins if you need to edit office docs, ui tweaking, removable battery, multi tasking, and hardware keyboard. If you really want to make your TP feel like a slug, go to a at&t store and play with a 3gs for a while, the speed and responsiveness difference is really disturbing. The biggest shortcoming of the iPhone for me is at&t, who's coverage is surprisingly poor in many major markets (particularly my own, NYC/LI). If Apple were to also offer the iPhone to Verizon or Sprint, it would devastate all the other feature phone and smart phone mfgs with the exception of RIM. What is truly striking about the difference between them is how the iPhone evolves while WM with the exception of a little pretty wallpaper to cover the cracks, stagnates. There's always the promise that the next version will change things, but it never does. MS is so paralyzed by the fear of loosing grip on its big enterprise clients who never want any change that they've let the personal market go. In their paralysis they missed the driving force for these devices present and future and let the whole market slip between their fingers into Apple and RIM's hands. Also, for all those who tout ROM availability for the TP as a plus, think again. There's no need of a quest for just that little bit more speed or stability with the iPhone when it's already there. Of course putting a question like this here much less a poll is like asking to choose between car manufacturers at a Corvette owners club.
