Re: New Touch Pro 2 not worth upgrade, must read!
Sprint recently changed the rules about upgrading. If you've been a customer for more than 10 years, or have an individual everything plan of $99 or higher or family everything plan of $129 or higher for three months or more, you are elligible for your $150 upgrade credit every twelve months. For me, this means I can upgrade on November 1st of THIS year which leaves me with a lot of options. Obviously I could go ahead to the TP2 but I still think that for what I need it's not worth it. What I'm really holding out for is a 16gb Pre or perhaps some sort of pre 2 if such a thing could happen. I'm not making the same mistake as I did last year. I'm waiting till winter CES to see what's announced before I do anything. In the meantime, I can only hope that my TP messes up somehow after the TP is disco'd and all they have is the TP2.

I would get the new Touch Pro 2 if I could get it for the same price I paid for my TP, which was $1.05 brand new from Sprint. I have a $150 credit towards a new phone if I chose. But I like my smaller TP, it works great and with all my hacks and tweaks, the battery last most of the day with mild use. I'm waiting for a snapdragon 1 ghz or more phone with wm7 or better.

I just wish they managed to include a face detector/sensor so i wouldn't have to worry about my face dialing on the touch screen. That drives me crazy. New hardware- same problem.

Yes, there are many alternatives, but they are really fixes for a really basic problem. I shouldnt HAVE to find a utility (especially something as awesome as S2U2).
WHOOPS. I just read that the TP2 HAS a proximity sensor. NICE. That was the only things holding me back. |
