Jealous of iPhone games

I'm jealous of all the games I see for the iPhone... where are all the games for the Diamond/WiMo/watever(as long as it works). I love playing puzzle games like bubble breaker, but other than the games that ship with the Diamond and the games that come with custom ROMs... are there any more? Is there a thread or a website I missed?

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

Totally agree. I am torn... I have a Ipod Touch and it is super smooth. It has amazing apps, and some great games. I don't think the touch will ever be as sexy as the touch or iphone.....

The diamond however does things I don't think the iphone will be able to do.... Real GPS software.... Phone as modem.... even serve as a wifi router... Way more customizable.... but not as smoothas the iphone... (I also prefer the larger screen size of the itouch/iphone....the diamond has great rez.. but the fonts can get small)

My solution for now? Have both.... A diamond with wmwifi and ipod touch gives me the best of both worlds...

If the iphone gets more jailbroken to open it up more..... I'd jump ship....

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

i think its silly to compare the two devices. they are made for completely different markets. windows media devices have always been advertised towards the productivity section of the market, whereas the iphone is more directed at hipsters and people who just want to be entertained by something. there's a severe difference between the two devices, and how they are intended to be used. if you want something to play games, get a psp. if you want a phone that can double as a pda, get a diamond/pro. if you want an ipod, get an ipod. there is no device that will do everything, at least not yet. you will still need multiple devices to have the best of all worlds.

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

i had an htc diamond and then i got an iphone, and switched back to the htc diamond because iphones suck, there not as cool as the htc diamond, and some of the roms that have been made for the diamond are amazing, the mighty rom comes with music id, which is faster than the one the iphone uses

Re: Jealous of iPhone games

On my phone I have the following games installed: Pocket Doom Pocket Duke Nukem 3D Pocket Wolfenstien 3D Pocket Quake Pocket Spear of Destiny Solitare Free Cell Pocket Sudoku Kevtris Par 72 Golf II Pac-Man There are many games out there for WM. Here's a few places to get you started:

http://www.pocketpcfreeware.com/en/index.php
http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/
http://www.ppc4all.com/
http://www.wm6software.net/
http://catserveronline.net/armor/files_mobile
http://www.1800pocketpc.com/

Basically, if there's something you want to do on a regular computer, you can probably find something equivilant to do whatever you so desire on Windows Mobile. (streaming media, play games, run a web server, remote access via VNC, FTP transfer, file compression, network penetration testing, VoIP, etc). A Windows Mobile device isn't just a telephone, it is a ultra-portable computer that also has the feature of being able to make telephone calls. If you want to do something with your telephone, there almost certianly exists software, (and most of it for free), that can do exactly what you want.

I have over 300MB of installed software on my PocketPC, and I have only paid for 3 programs. (Pocket Tunes, Par 72 Golf II, MobiTV). For instance, even if you want to watch streaming live TV, you don't necessarily need to buy MobiTV. You can use TVU Player Portable. It's a little slow, and has severe lag, but it is free, (and has a couple hundred channels available for steaming). As I said, a Windows Mobile device is more of a computer then it is a telephone. Today's technology which fits in your pocket and will handle pretty much anything you throw at it, leaves the average 2001 desktop computer in the dust. (if you put in a 32GB microSD card)
