Apple offers protection plan too. They will replace it free. I think U only pay 69 bucks. I'm not sure because my Iphone has no service. I use my friends sim card if I need to make a call LOL. I have Sprint as my primary carrier. Sprint's plans are amazing. Maybe that is the reason why they are going bunkrupt. LOL

^^

Na... it's Nextel's fault. Sprint was awesome until they picked up Nextel, then their money went down the crapper.

/me raises glass to Sprint - IMO Best service and plans and phones

There is also a referral fee where existing ATT customer and referral both get $25 gift card. It looks like WalMart and Sam's Club will have them after Xmas, and Costco will probably not be far behind. That means discounted phones.

The $69 Apple Care is only for warranty on the phone for second year. Lose it, break it, brick it, have it stolen....Too bad for you

Re: Anyone have an iPhone or come from one?

For what it's worth one can tether a ipod touch to a wm phone. A bit expensive and not a single device, but you can get the best of both worlds.

U wanna help the OP? post something useful to him and stop calling me out.

I don't have the insight to help him, but you claim to. I was trying to help by getting you to provide insight on the level you claim to have. But they're right, it's like trying to explain it to someone who misinterpret my every intention and statement. Like borat.

I had the original iphone (jailbroken) and an iphone 3g (didn't bother to jailbreak it for a bunch of reasons) and then decided to move over to a touch pro for a number of reasons.

I would say the biggest are the hardware keyboard, copy/paste, multimedia messaging, simple custom ringtone use, flexibility right out of the box.

And for those of you who say the iphone can do anything that the touch pro (or any windows mobile device) can do, I'd say you're probably right in assuming that, but you also don't mention the loss of stability once you start adding unsupported apps through Installer/Cydia. My iphone would crash multiple times a day once I finally got all the apps I wanted (needed?) on it, and occasionally even holding down the home/power keys wouldn't work to reset the phone. There're occasions where I've had to wait for the battery to go dead in order to fix problems with any app that I'd installed.

I really like the iphone, I think it's a great device, but it definitely caters to a certain type of user (not me). And, to be honest, it took a giant crack in the screen and the thought of replacing the phone at the full unsubsidized price that made me start to consider what else is out there... but I'm glad I did.

EDIT : Ok, I'll add the pros of the iphone -

Integrates very well with mobileme (.mac) and mac os X
the touch screen is unrivaled
Very stable if you don't screw around with it too much
The interface is simple and intuitive

See, this is a hugely helpful post. This is what I was hoping you could do for the OP.
