My brother works at a sneaker boutique and all the "rich" kids walk in their their iPods and iPhones and one time I pulled out my phone and was using TF2D [sorry I dont have a Diamond or TP yet] and they got lock jaw because they didnt realize how much a Touch can do.

i agree and its a little concerning that a thread needs to be made about it. People youre all adults you should know by now who cares what other people think as long as you like it. People arent going to be put off or encouraged by cnet for the most part if theyre knowledgable enough to use a smartphone. Thats the kind of crap Apple pulls with the iphone and Mac does bashing windows. Retaliating back with childish crap proves nothing on our part, let them bash like immature kids. And the iphone users i know all use iphones cause they own other Apple products and/or ipods and wanted a phone with good music and video. they have no gripes against WM per say, they all like my Diamond and Tflo and windows on it. They use what they want since thats what theyre used to. Theres no need to try and swing people either way let them use what they want.

Who gives 2 craps what anyone thinks about your device as long as YOU like it. Maybe cnet gets $$$ from apple to promote it, or they are just biased but who really cares? Its their website and their right to say what they want and you can say what u want here but lets not act like children posting crap there and stooping to their level

And FYI i think cnet's review (the official one) was pretty accurate. Their "bad's" - The Touch Pro is sluggish at times; the smartphone is bulky; and there's no standard headphone jack or dedicated camera key ar al pretty much truths and not a secret from any of us who have brought these gripes up

but it doesn't deserve a half star. that's my point. i think it's obvious people who surf on ppcgeeks/xda know a thing or two about windows mobile and are more advanced compared to users of others mobile operating systems. but there are people who go onto cnet to see how people review products and then base their decision on that. that's why there's an option to mark whether people thought it was a helpful review or not. i don't think we're being childish - i wouldn't go out there and rate the iPhone half a star, i'd give it a realistic rating based on my needs as a mobile user.
i just want to get the proper word out. apple has enough marketing, they don't need douche bags to hate on htc phones. iPhone is winning the popularity contest and the demand is increasing. soon, sprint may not even offer phones like the touch pro or at least diminish their offerings.. then maybe you'd think differently about caring about stuff like this. the more the iPhone and android phones dominate, the more windows mobile users will suffer.

Re: Disgusted by iPhone users reviewing the TP with bias on CNET

I think the iphone is a half decent build but it lacks with the :
-cut and paste--****ty cam, with no video--no Voice activated calling--
--
If you want to run full internet, you're going to have to run an Intel-based architecture
--have to send it away for a couple of weeks to change the battery
--if apple doesn't like the software you're putting on the device then it will be disabled.(draconian)
--No MMS(Send or receive pictures through text messages)
--not delivering 3g signal very often(if u promise high speed, then deliver), lawsuits pending.
--No speed dial--No Java--Allow you to abbreviate in text messages
--No call recording--
In Canada, you must submit to a 3-year jail sentence to get one
no In-Call and regular Voice Recording
You can’t even customize your main screen to post notes; change around
icons--you Use an mp3 of your choice for its ringtone--
--doesn't Sort your recent INCOMING / OUTGOING calls separately
--blocks hotmail--Can’t select specific ring tone for unknown callers--
--No horizontal keyboard mode---Can’t empty email box with one click
--No flash--no tabbed browsing
--no camera flash--No optical, digital zoom--
--O, and if you unlock it, none of the official “apple store” aps will work
--$60 for a data plan that offers only 400 MB--i pay 7bucks for unlimited, as much as I can use both ways.(total calling bill is 37$...buddies iphone through rogers is 150+ a month....you do the math.
--I could go on and on about some of the ungodlike things about this phone but i would probably burn out the internet. In the end i can watch all my cable tv unbuffered to my phone in the boonies, as long as i have a dial tone(no use for driving around looking for wifi....can you hear me now?) via my computer, tether it to a laptop or computer. Gps lock in four seconds.Basically my htc is totally awesome. Do you see how much homebrew is available for these phones?...what you can do with them? Like i said the iphone is a nice build but you have to weigh the issues and the hype.

im with you and all.. but you stated a few things that arent exactly true with the i-phone.. it does have tabbed browsing, and you can change around the icons on the home screen.. but we all get the point

I'm prolly late to the party here, but I have to chime in. You sir, are pretty much wrong on a lot of accounts.

Not to defend the iPhone here, I don't really like it myself, but I will give it credit where credit is due. First of all, WTF are you talking about with "full internet" on intel based architecture? And how is this different from the touch pro? Both are ARM devices, so your argument fails. Not even sure what point you want to make.

Next, you can jailbreak and run whatever you want without Apple controlling you. Yes its a crappy approach, but it does work.

You can change around icons on the home screen. You can use a song as a ringtone.

Not sure about it blocking hotmail, I don't see why/how it would though.

There is horizontal and vertical keyboard modes, just depends on the app.

If you jailbreak, appstore still works just fine. Data plan is just as unlimited as our Sprint data plans, now adays.

There is a lot of homebrew on the iPhone too, you just have to have half a brain and be unbiased about it. I would take the Touch Pro over the iPhone any day, but the iPhone isnt quite as bad as you make it out to be. You sound just like those reviewers on cnet saying TouchPro/Sprint don't have 3G in your post.
