Re: Any thoughts on the Pro from former Vogue (original Touch) users?
I have both of them. Right now. My old Vogue is no longer active (was my primary phone used all the time).
One thing I miss is the thinner size and lighter weight. It practically disappeared on a belt clipped carry case. Funny thing though, is the Touch Pro feels so much better in the hand. It's not as wide as the Vogue, and the added thickness (not that much really) and curved back makes it feel really comfortable in the hand. It actually feels a lot more like a phone. But other than that, the Touch Pro is such a improvement in many ways. The screen quality is no contest. The main reason for me wanting the Touch Pro over the Diamond was because I wanted a physical keyboard. I went from the Apache 6700 to the Titan 6800 Mogul to the Vogue 6900 Touch. So I've always has physical keyboard pocket PC's before. I tried many different SIP's like Touch Pal, etc, but it was still annoying to enter text. So, the Touch Pro marks my return to a silder keyboard pocket PC. One thing the Vogue has over the Touch Pro, is stability. The Vogue was much more stable out of the box at launch vs. the Touch Pro. Granted, it's not as bad as the Mogul was when it first came out, but the Vogue was nearly perfect for me. That said I guess someone coming from a Mogul that got it when it first came out will not mind the bugs nearly as much. But coming from the Vogue will be harder in that aspect. One thing coming from the Vogue that you won't mind with the Touch Pro is battery life. I always carried a spare battery (two in fact), and it's the same with the Touch Pro. They're pretty comparable in terms of battery life now. Hope that helps you decide. |

What kind of stability issues have you noticed? Is performance overall better than the Vogue? The Vogue's not really sluggish, but it could always be faster!
How's the build quality compared to the Vogue? The Vogue's pretty solid, and it has resisted scratches *incredibly* well. The rubberized surface on the Vogue really stays in good condition. Do you think the shiny surfaces on the Pro will scratch up more easily? Do you ever carry the phone in a front pocket? The Vogue disappears into my right front pocket. While I agree that the narrower profile and slightly thicker depth would make it feel good in the hand, the extra thickness might be a disappointment. Then again, the Treo 600/650 was about an inch with the skin case I used and I carried that for several years. But the Touch's .6 inches has spoiled me in a great way. |

Re: Any thoughts on the Pro from former Vogue (original Touch) users?
I have both phones and I have to say that the vogue was a good phone for the 10 months that I used it. But and a big but the touch pro is a much better phone overall. The build quality is on par with the touch I would say becuase they both have there own little problems.
The pro is bigger but it has a keyboard so that is to be expected. I notice how slow the vogue was when I got the pro. There is a big difference. The screen alone is the best upgrade and when you put them side by side it's like watching tv and watching HDTV big difference in the pixels. Htc did a great job with the screen. The carrying case on the touch is a better but not by much. I don't like the case to the touch pro but I can live with it till they come out with a better one that allows the phone to be put in sending straight up instead of sideways. I am still debating keeping my touch too becuase I just got mine replaced by assurion and they sent me a defective one the first time and when I complained they replaced it with a brand new one with all the accessories just like buying it from the store. |

I came from the Mogul and went to the Touch, and I regret that decision, so my opinion will be a little biased, but I love the Touch Pro 10x better than the Vogue.

Re: Any thoughts on the Pro from former Vogue (original Touch) users?
Well I had the Touch Pro for a little over a week now and here's what I've noticed (in no particular order) that is better than the Vogue.
1) TP is much more responsive than the Vogue 2) The touchflo 3D is actually usable, I never used the Cube on the touch 3) Yes, it's heaver, but it does feel nice in the hand. 4) Pictures are noticeably better. 5) Volume was a bit low, but the audiopara files I found made a noticeable difference 6) Signal quality seems better 7) The TP offers a much better browser experience, with the built-in opera The music player is usable, but its no ipod. 9) GPS seems to be much quicker and more accurate (could just be me) 10) I haven't had to soft reset the phone once since I've own it. My Vogue needed bi-weekly resets to cope with life... 11) Tethering seems faster Things that could be better 1) Battery life..... 2) The phone does get a bit warm during heavy use 3) Regular headphone jack, this can't be so hard for them to do. Overall, I'm very happy I made the switch to the Touch Pro. |

I agree haven't had the phone lock up on me once yet and I use the heck out of it. any soft resets I do are because I choose too. The touch did need resets every two days or so for no reason

Re: Any thoughts on the Pro from former Vogue (original Touch) users?
Well, I did it! Thanks for all of your advice. I do miss the smaller size and weight of the Vogue, but it's really not bad. I just notice it a bit because the Vogue is still sitting on the desk. I think once I put it away, I'll forget about that. But this screen is just awesome, and TF3D is nice too. Overall it's just slicker, and I'm glad to have a keyboard back. I'm still playing with it and setting it all up, but I think I'm going to end up pleased with my choice.
