Finally sprint agree to swap me from 6800 to touch pro when it release.

After couple email complaining problem with 6800 sprint finally agree to swap me touch pro with no charge.

Dear ABC,

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I'm sorry for the trouble you faced due to the handset issue.

HTC Touch Pro will be available Oct. 19, 2008 (anticipated launch date) for $299.99 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate. We can exchange the handset once we are aware about the retail price of the handset. So, we can offer you HTC PRO once the price is known.

However, I can offer you HTC Diamond free of cost. We will send you the return kit for your current handset that is HTC Mogul. Once you receive the return kit in 3-5 days, simply send the current handset in the return kit to the address mention on the kit.

The total charge of the HTC Diamond will be billed to the account.
However, your account will be automatically credited back as soon the returned handset is received back in our warehouse.

So, by this your account will be charged for $549.99 and will be credited also for $549.99 hence, this would nullify the account for the same.

If you wish to accept this offer then, please reply to this e-mail we will issue the return kit

I have forwarded this request to the appropriate department and they will get back to you in 48 hours and please be assured that the representative will surely resolve the issue to your satisfaction.
If there is anything else I can assist you with, please feel free to write to us. We are here for you. Thank you for emailing us.

Sincerely,
EFG
Customer Service Specialist
Sprint

Dear EFG

Thanks for your offer, I am truly appreciated.
But I would rather to wait diamond pro to come out since I use keyboard so much on the text message and e-mail.
Am I able to get a same offer once diamond pro become available in the market?

Thanks.

ABC.

Dear ABC,

Thank you for your reply.

Yes, the offer will remain same if you want to have the HTC Touch Pro instead of Diamond phone. So, once the HTC Touch Pro get launched, reply along with this email. We will send the return kit for the current phone.

Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

What did you complain about to get them to agree to this? I'd like to do the same... is this through the insurance plan or did you just get them to agree to it?

I'll be getting it for just the price difference between both, which I think will be somewhere between $30 and $50...

What does this have to do with upgrading our Titans? Nothing. Should have posted this in the main forum. Sorry to ***** but its a waste of time and screen space when posts are not in correct forums.

Thank you for listening to _my_ opinion.

Actually, I would consider the touch pro the ultimate upgrade of a Titan.

First off, there's a thread for this topic here already: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...=38444&page=12 It's not really relevant to upgrading the Titan, more like replacing the Titan.

Anyway, as a note of interest, I believe we figured out in that thread that the only people getting a full trade-in offer are the ones whose Moguls are under warranty. Those of us whose Moguls are out of warranty don't seem to be getting any more than about $250 off, including the $75 sub-22-month instant discount.

One year, as far as I'm aware. So those of us who purchased at launch are out of luck.

hehe I'm working up to this on Verizon too.. I know there are no official release dates of the vzw version of the touch pro but I'm sure it will be 1st qtr next year... in the meantime, I keep having replacements come for my titan to build up a case to get a replacement.. I'm on my 3rd one now I just be on my 5th by early next year and absolutely justifying a replacement ;)

If you guys have had an Asurion claim within the last year those devices come with a warranty too. At least it is that way on Alltel. Just a thought. ;)

And a 1 year warranty like when you buy a phone with a 2 year contract. I got that with Alltel.

Re: Finally sprint agree to swap me from 6800 to touch pro when it release.

I would just say be careful about them "crediting your account when the phone reaches the warehouse"... from my experience, the warehouse people are basically like "what the hell is this?" and when you reply to your e-mail to get the credit, you will get a new representative (without even starting a new ticket) who wants you to scan a copy of your "receipt" for the Mogul. They did the same to me, and I had to reply telling them that if what they agreed was going to be a problem, maybe I needed to take my service elsewhere. The applied the credit after that, but now I have people calling me 3 times yesterday and twice so far today asking if my issue was resolved to my satisfaction, if there is anything else they can do, etc. Kinda nice, but my boss is starting to think I talk on the phone all day lol.

by the way, it does not matter how long u had the phone as long as you have insurance..in my opinion.

In my post I linked to the thread that already exists for this purpose. It's in the Raphael board where it's more on-topic than a board about how to improve the Titan you already own and plan to keep. I strongly recommend that thread as it contains about 40x more information than this one.

You did get lucky. I've spent a couple of hours in total with eCare. And insurance has nothing to do with it. Insurance replaces your phone with a refurb of the same model unless you're lucky and they're out. And even then they usually ship you the new model minus all accessories.

Honestly, I wish I could tell you some secret password. To tell you the truth, I listed my complaints about the Mogul, said I knew it was to be replaced by the Pro, and was offered the return kit and Pro credit. That's it man. No black magic, no secret handshakes.... I dunno. Seems like some have gotten the ok, and some have gotten shut down. I am on SERO, have EVP, and recently got some "premiere account" upgrade. I have no idea what the "premiere account" is, it just showed up one day when I logged onto sprint.com. That's the only think I can think would be the difference?

Yeah, I've got the Premier status (I think it's for people who've been with them over five years, but I see no benefits to it), but I don't have SERO or EVP. I think EVP qualifies you for some extra benefits, but still...

That's a shame. I'm working with eCare at the moment to see if I can get a discounted (or free) Touch Pro, as well. So far they've given me the $250.00 discount, but I've been a customer for at least 8 years (having trouble remembering whose service I was on before that), so hopefully that'll have some pull with them. I'm playin' it kind of dumb when it comes to the Touch Pro and stuff like that, so hopefully they won't suspect that I'm just trying to weasel an amazing phone out of them for free ;)

This one's extremely easy to get around. Just respond back with the fact that you spoke to a rep about the problems and researched them online and found that your device isn't malfunctioning, these are known common issues. They're design flaws that have still not been resolved via software updates, and with the Touch Pro on the way, there will be no more updates. Work from that.

I've had mine since november of last year.

Would something like this work>

Dear Sprint

I've had my mogul for some months now and have had numerous problems with it. It has been replaced and fixed mulitiple times and thing continually keep malfunctioning with it. On top of that the bluetooth is very poor and phone is slow to respond at times.

Should I say I know the touch pro is coming out and suggest them replacing the mogul with that ? Or is that too forward and sure fail?

That was my next step. I came in soft and hoped they would give me what I wanted, but now I'm starting to step up my game, mentioning how "I've come to know and expect higher quality service and phones when it comes to Sprint" and that "how my phone is acting after a single year is unacceptable."

Here's hoping it sticks :) I'll keep you all posted.

Ok so I fired off another email and got this:

Thank you for contacting Sprint Customer Service. I am happy to assist
you regarding the handset upgrade.

I understand that the HTC Mogul handset active on the line ********** is
not working properly. The account is not eligible for any rebate against

You can purchase new handset from one of our following sales channels:

The advantage is that you can view the actual equipment. Plus you can
activate the same at the store.

The nearest Sprint Store is just 2.7 miles away from you and the address

What do you guys think? should I press it anymore? I'm still not payin $479 for this I got mortgage and a Jetta to pay for, we in a recession damnit!!!

Success!

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I am sorry for the inconvenience you
have experienced due to the handset problem.

As stated in the last interaction by previous representatives that the
handset is still under the manufacturing warranty. Therefore, I would
suggest you to please purchase the Touch PRO handset at the nearest

the price difference of the handset.

The account will be credited for the handset in 1 to 2 billing cycle.
However, I would suggest you to please provide us the Tracking Number of
the returned handset and we will apply the credit of the handset through
e-care.

In addition to this, I can offer you additional $50.00 credit from my
side on handset upgrade. So, you need to purchase the handset at the
Sprint Store and after activating it just replay and we will apply the
$150.00 ($100.00 previous promised +$50.00 promised now) credit on the
account.

If you need any further assistance please write back. I will assist you
further.

Thank you again for e-mailing Sprint. We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,

Customer Service Specialist
Sprint
