700WX to what? ...800WX, Diamond, HTC Pro?

I'm on Sprint. I've been happy for a really long time with 700WX. It was tweaked to do what I wanted and all was good, until it was dropped in a parking lot over the weekend and it was run over by a car. Yes, I've got replacement coverage and yes I'm at the end of my contract and will probably be able to work a deal out with retentions to get what I want, but WHAT DO I WANT? I've been reading the threads about the Treo 800, the Diamond, and the upcoming HTC Pro. Anyone here made the switch from a 700WX to any of these and liked or disliked the move? If so why? The Diamond has me looking longingly, but I hear about over heating and loss of battery issues, plus will it work well one handed while driving with kids screaming in the car? My 700Wx was awesome for that. That fact this it's thinner and lighter than the Pro is appealing, but will I miss the keyboard? I've heard about battery issues with the 800 as well. Any thoughts? Any regrets from those who've switched?

Re: 700WX to what? ...800WX, Diamond, HTC Pro?

So, I take it you both think the Diamond is the way to go, at least for right now.

I went to one of the local Sprint stores today and actually got to hold a Diamond. One of the employees there had gotten one and he let me play with it. It is cool. I know others here on the Forum have heard release dates for the Pro of Oct 19 or Nov 1, but the store I went to said it wouldn't be in until Christmas! Maybe it'll be available through the mail at one of the earlier dates and not in stores until Christmas???

I really liked the feel of the Diamond though. The guy at the store said he'd not had any overheating problems even with 30 minute long phone calls, but we have good cell coverage in our area, so perhaps cell coverage makes a difference on how hot they get?
