Question mogul to touch pro-- why?

what will the raphael do that the mogul can't? obviously it has tuchflo 3d, and an extra row of keys, but is it really gonna be that much of an upgrade? I think that my mogul seems more practicle than it, in several instances (especially the lac of hardware keys). any thoughts?

Re: mogul to touch pro-- why?

I agree about the hardware keys, but honestly, I don't use them that much... I'll really miss the scroll wheel, but that's about it.

As for the upgrades, the memory difference between the two is enough to convince me to switch. with 6 times the memory, I don't see the pro getting bogged down like my mogul does (unless they release WM7 and it's a memory hog)...

I don't even care that much about touchflo.. maybe I'll like it, maybe I won't.. but for me, the attraction of the pro lies in the internal hardware.

Re: mogul to touch pro-- why?

Well I'm a big fan of the browser... I have a mogul right now and up until a week ago when I got skyfire I hated using my mogul for internet use. I'm going to buy the diamond or touch pro whatever its call when it comes out for sprint and use it for 30 days. If I feel its worth my money I will keep it. If I dont... Back it goes! By the way, the one thats coming out for sprint on the 28th is it the one with the keyboard or not? I really want a keyboard on mine!

Re: mogul to touch pro-- why?

I love my mogul most of the time but at times I just want to break it. The Answer and hang up buttons are raised too high and keep pressing while in my pocket. To remedy that I installed S2U2 but that program sometimes bog down and refuses to let me answer my phone. I am an extremely calm and passive person most of the times but I hate electronics that don't function properly.

I noticed that the call and end keys on the touch pro are flat. That and the ram are the only reason I am getting the phone. I can care less about touch flo and will most likely disable it as it seems worthless.

The ram is where its at for me as well. Now don't get me wrong I love my mogul but if I had to do it all over again I would have just kept my 6700. But what can I say my pockets where burning to spend some money and I did like the slightly smaller size of the mogul and gps so I got it. Right now, memory management is a daily activity for me when using the mogul and I hate it at times, it can be very frustrating. So touch pro here I come.

more keys, more ram, tv/video out, touchflo3d, vga screen, accelerometer, 3.2mp camera, sounds like enough of an upgrade for me

Re: mogul to touch pro-- why?

While the ppc6700 to Mogul was a relatively minor upgrade to me, the Mogul to Touch Pro seems to be much more significant. To me the vga resolution for apparently a much better web experience is the biggest improvement. The greater amount of RAM and video out are also nice additions.

Re: mogul to touch pro-- why?

I've loved having my Mogul, but there are a few things that automatically make me want to upgrade:

1) Screen is flush to the edge of the phone. The surrounding frame that the Mogul has always gets frustrating to me because majority of the time, I don't have a stylus (lost both of them) and have to try to scroll up and down using my finger on the side of the screen. I use the wheel and the circle d-pad, but those don't scroll as accurate as I need at times.

2) 1 cm shorter in length. Slightly slimmer. About the same depth. One of my main reservations getting a Mogul was the fact that I wanted a small phone (since I hate using hip holsters). I used to have a Samsung i500 (one of the first small PDA phones) and I loved the size and functionality. Unfortunately, the technology was very outdated and couldn't do certain things that I needed for work purposes. When I got the Mogul, I was surprised at how much smaller it was than I anticipated. Now, w/ the Touch Pro being even smaller...I think it may fit in exactly what I've wanted for a phone.

3) Video Out. What can I say about this that hasn't been said already. It's something I haven't seen from any other phone (although, I'm sure there are phones that may have this). From the preliminary pictures posted about it, it looks like it's limited in what it can be used for, but I hope that one way or another someone can figure out how to hack the system to allow the video out to view the Navigation!

4) New QWERTY keyboard with the extra row of number keys.

5) Touch Flo. I never installed the program that was made for the Mogul (for fear of completely messing up the phone), but this is something I'm not sure I'll like or not. But from the videos I've seen, I'll still be able to use the circle d-pad, which is fine with me.
