Re: Any old Touch users?
I'm not exactly the guy that you want to hear from because I have only used a touch and not actually owned one. But I did own the Mogul...
Basically with the 800w you're going to give up some screen size, we all know that. After owning it for about a week though I think that's the only thing you give up, but the stability and speed of the device MORE than make up for it. Especially me, that is a texter and not so much a caller, having a keyboard right on the outside for the texts is amazing! My advice though is to run to the Sprint store and just check out the screen first because it's definitely smaller. If you can live with that you'll be happy.

Re: Any old Touch users?
As you can see from my sig I have had them all with the Touch I sent no text added no tasks or calendar updates and only sent just a few emails even those were have to emails, all because I hated the on screen keyboard. In the end of my touch experiment I was using the stylus and the regular keyboard all the time because my fingers are to big to hit the keys. I am not a touch screen guy I only used the touch for about 3 months before I gave it up. As far as compare they are 2 completely different devices all touch screen to almost no need for a touch screen so its a matter of preference I am a heavy business user I need the qwerty and the improved Phone application that the Treos are known for. These things always come down to personal preference do you want a qwerty and are you willing to give up some screen real-estate to get it. How well do the Touch phone apps relay work for you? Keep in mind if you like to do a lot of tweaking the Treo won't be as adaptable as the touch, different programs will cause issues with the Palm installed software. If you need a qwerty a phone that just works bluetooth that just works and GPS that just works, if you want a PPC that is snappy has an exceptional high resolution screen etc... get the Treo. As far as the battery life, close to the same for me but with both the Treo and the Touch a second battery is a must I paid $24 for my Treo back up battery how much dose the Touch battery cost? Also I just typed up this on my Treo.

Re: Any old Touch users?
Thanks D5!
I miss the keyboard as well. Now that I think about it, I don't send off as many text or emails as I did with my 700. I notice that the palm devices are a phone first and then a PPC. With HTC, they focus on the PPC side and if the phone works when the dust settles, great! The two things that I can't live without are my Exchange connection and my GPS. How does TomTom or Garmin do with the new 800? |

Re: Any old Touch users?
I owned the touch for 10 months and liked it but the 800w kills it. The 800w is a lot faster and I actually get quite a bit better battery life with the 800w. The screen size was not that noticeable.
