Re: Touch vs Mogul?

I'm new to Sprint (Sero) and went from Touch-Centro-Mogul-Touch in the past 2 months...

At first I was new to WM so the Touch was just bizarre. Having owned and been spoiled by both iPhones and BBs before, I thought the Touch "sucked" so I exchanged it.

Centro OS was too boring. (I thought the battery life was horrendous too but that was my fault for syncing too many email accounts.)

Mogul was great, WiFi and GPS were nice but I didn't use or need them. I didn't have many memory issues or these "crashes" people speak of, but the bulky size was getting to me and it didn't seem too "new"... I do miss the keyboard though.

I sold the Mogul on eBay and bought a brand new Touch for less, now that i know WM better I love the Touch, its small and easy to use. The quality has me worried though after 3 days I have permanent dark spots on the screen! Good thing I just added insurance :)

Re: Touch vs Mogul?

im gonna post this here too:

GEEZ....Man i love my mogul, im religious to it...

BUT, I really want a smaller sleeker phone, Touch comes to mind...
Then I think about what I love about my mogul.
-I text about 4000 times a month, so a keyboard is really a main need for me(my primary method of communication lol)
-Now that I have GPS, I dont want to go without it. My new computer acts funky when it comes to USB tethering, so wmwifirouter is my only tethering solution. So i sorta need wifi
-screen is gorgeous.

Other than that, the touch can do anything the mogul can do.

Most of us mogulers have grown accustomed to mananing the moguls memory, and while we have it pretty much on lock, once you use a touch or treo 700wx, and can run as many programs as u want, and then go back to the mogul, and have to closely monitor whats running, it makes u realize that the mogul is severly bottlenecked, and to be honest, as much as I LOVE MY MOGUL, im sick of the out of memory errors and freezes and ****, even with the custom roms.
Its like us mogulers have high powered racecars in our pockets....with transmissions that cant handle the power.

Im really on the fence about switching to the touch. Am i willing to give up my keyboard for a much sleeker phone with the same functionality and more memory, and lose GPS, Wifi, and Rev A?? (i know that gps and rev a are coming to the touch)

Or do I stick it out with the mogul, and deal with the problems, and keep all of the features I love?

Man i cant decide either. Im stuck, im having more trouble with the debate, then ive ever had before.
Damn i cant wait for the curve...

Re: Touch vs Mogul?

I second Success100's opinion, i do about 2 to 3000 texts a month, and i don't see any problem with mines either since i installed the new official rom, plus i don't run that many programs on it since there's not much ram to offer. love the hard keyboard as much as anyone else on here.

so this is where i shut the last 2 posts down by saying i text 4 to 5 thousand times a month with my touch an i KNOW i'm textin quicker that any mogul user, also with less effort (no sliding keyboard, an can text with one hand). touch only lacks wifi, in my opinion

Quick question for blue4shizzle: I just switched to the Touch and have seen many posts about how fast you can end up typing on it. I'm having a hard time, are there any tutorials or tips and tricks to get me started on the soft keyboards?

P.S. - Love the location-unfortunately!

well, i too find this funny since you wanna treat this as a :cussing: measuring contest... that's not what we're all about, plus i baby my screen as much as the rest of my beloved device (still has no scratches, and no NO i don't finger my screen... lmfaorotf... plus i'm getting a black housing for it for $55). it may offer less in one area, but it gets the job done regardless of anyone's judgment.

go to cooktek.com

and the reason i bring up my textin point is because people always claim missing a hardware keyboard is crucial for the touch and i think that's a load of crap, i've had both an a keyboard is nice but not a necessity, i wouldn't trade the touch for a keyboard, i mean look at all the iphone owners.. you think they would want a keyboard? and when i say faster textin i mean all together, typing speed along with overall speed from when you pull out your phone to do it and put it back in your pocket

also if you have a mogul and touchpal, t then it defeats the purpose in my opinion lol, just get a touch, why have a hardware keyboard but instal an on screen one?

because its not always convienient to slide it open, such as while driving,
and its nice to have both, so with that being said my dear friend,

having both is not counter productive

im really thinking about trying a touch, but i dont wanna open up a second line, or sell my mogul. nor do i wanna buy a touch and then hate it....GEE.. i wish someone had an extra one to donate to me as a late bday/christmas gift.....

Re: Touch vs Mogul?

oh trust me, once you try a touch.. that mogul will seem less important lol, honestly the only thing that would keep you hanging on to that mogul is the rom update, after the touch gets theirs..its game over lol
