Re: Goodbye evo
it's the apps. I am using my evo as a second line while I wait for my rebate from sprint before I swap my main number over. So I basically use it for Pandora for my car traveling back and forth to work and play with it from time to time. I have advanced task killer to auto shut off tasks every half hour. Once while changing songs in Pandora I saw it say 32 apps killed. The only thing so far I really hate about android is it turns on apps by it's self. Major batt killer. And for it to launch 32 apps, WTF? I had 1 running. I miss my wm (yet still using it as it is broke and works half the time) and I only switched to android as I didn't like the way wp7 was going. but windows never launched apps on its own. My 30 day period isn't over yet and am still considering returning the evo. Not happy paying for 4g when it isn't even avail in this state. And I get a 0.05 mb/s net while my touch pro is at 1.0 mb/s sitting next to each other.

Re: Goodbye evo
Not to burst anyone's bubble, but the iPhone battery is no better, no matter how many keynotes Steve Jobs' uses to claim otherwise. I have a number of friends and coworkers with iPhones that are constantly complaining about battery life, and yes, they have to make the exact same concessions with power settings and sync options that we have to make.
It ALWAYS comes down to YOU and how YOU use your phone. I want to USE my phone, but I am sensible enough to configure it to ration my power conservatively by default and still allow me to spend battery life like Congress spends tax dollars when I want to geek out and show off to friends. |
Re: Goodbye evo
every phone that I have loved have had battery issues. To me it came down to battery management. The only PDA that I had with EXCELLENT battery life was the Treo 650. They have all been down hill from there. With that said, I wouldn't trade them for anything. With my HTC Diamond, Touch, Touch Pro, and TP2, I just stay near a charger. The pros outweigh the cons to me.

Re: Goodbye evo
The phone is awesome, but the battery life is dreadful. I can't believe anyone that uses the phone even moderately, and get one full day out of it. I call BS.
So what did I do? I bought two external chargers and an extra battery. Just swap it in, problem solved! |

Re: Goodbye evo
I went to best buy and played around with this. My god this thing is fast, way faster then my TP2, but o how this thing is huge, I mean this phone is way too big, almost stupid big. Not sure I could get used to this.

Re: Goodbye evo
Here's a reference I've done regarding battery life and improving it to the point of satisfaction...
