I am perfectly happy with the battery life of this phone.

16.5 hours off the charger and you're at 13% with that usage. You should be getting better, but for me too, I'm happy as long as it gets me through a day.

I forgot about an hour of gaming (Tower Raiders & Air Control) and roughly an extra 30 minutes of web before bed. Nonetheless, I am still pleased.

I had my EVO few weeks a go, and I'm retuning the phone tomorrow, its very nice looking phone, good performance, but the battery is a total disaster, first 2 week battery was fine but on the third week I was getting only 6 hours max, I seen a lot of threads giving advices about how to save battery power.

Now why would you pay for a phone that you need to have GPS always off to save power, auto data off, and few other thing off. we has a costumers need to force HTC to fix all the issues with this phone and any other HTC phone, now I`m moving back to HD2 for now , I love the HD2 but I hate T-MOBILE service.

would like to see how many people agree with me.

IF WE WANNA BEAT I-PHONE WE NEED TO FORCE HTC TO GIVE US A PERFECT PHONE.

You think HTC puts out bad phones but youre moving to the HD2 which is another HTC phone? If you really wanna show HTC that youre serious about wanting them to fix their phones dont get another HTC phone get a droid or something.

Check to see if maybe you've installed some sketchy stuff in the last week or so. I've found that some apps on the market will drain your battery and/or refuse to suspend you phone when the screen is off.

I`m total agree with you, and yes i have brightness to minimum, only few apps, so i don`t think i did something wrong to the phone to kill the battery so fast, and I`m total agree with you about T-mobile coverage is a mess. but i don`t have complains with WM

i dunno, i have my brightness at 60%. Only other things i turned off was 4g and gps. I get over 24 hours of light use... standby gets crazy life. Is the "6 hours max" use that you get light, moderate, or heavy use?

edit: again, if you were fine with battery for two weeks then it just went to crap, then you did something, not android or the evo. just saying...

If you are only getting max 6 hours from the phone, it sounds like you may have a bad battery.

Doubtful... I had the EXACT same issue with mine. Everything was working perfectly for the first week, then one day it just started constantly using data and wouldn't sleep properly. Sitting untouched for four hours after removing from the charger, my battery was at 40%. I hadn't installed anything new within a few days of the problem. To top it off, I was getting crashed every half hour, with out without GPS.

I rooted and flashed Fresh's ROM, restored all of the same programs I had via a backup, and have had zero issues since. If it had been an app causing the problem, the problem should have replicated itself with the new ROM.

I still say you give rooting and flashing a try before sending the phone back.

If we want to beat the Iphone? EVO destroys the Iphone. It used to be that the Iphone just works, well Android just works and you can do soooo much more than the Iphone.

It used to be with my friends, when I had the Diamond, can your phone do this? My answer was probably not, but it could do something similar. EVO can do anything Iphone can do but better. Bigger screen makes the IPhone look like a little toy, using gps my icon moved as I did up and down my driveway...my friends IPhone said he was two blocks away. Just two examples but still in comparison to the EVO the Iphone fails.
