I totally agree, its very childish. Stay on topic and discuss the argument posted, not how well the OP types or spells.

Re: EVO not WORTH the switch

I'm starting to agree with you. Had to give up my EPRP to get this phone, paying $20/more a month will sting...UNLESS the discounts I have on my account make up for the difference and the increase in price is negligible. I've got 30 days, I'll review my bill when it comes out and make the decision to return then.

Not trying to be disrespectful but I've had my EVO for only about 30 hours now and "I feel" like I have done A LOT more on this phone than I have ever did throughout the whole time I was on Windows Mobile!

Can you please explain?!

all of us like new things. we all play around with new toys but can y say that 30 days or 30 wks ?

from my viewpt, there are many wm apps i am using right now that may in the future be avail on android but be a good while. i care much less about social apps and more about things like tethering options (at least 3 ways on tp2), aviation moving map software and flight planing (am private pilot. tp2 is the last bkup if my pc nav goes dwn), street nav (igo8 which wont be on android for a while because every1 on android is so happy using google map till they are in poland and it no longer work).

clearly, we are unfortunately the minority. i guess the history lesson unfortunate is that the ignorance mass will win at the poll and by the time every1 figured it out, it's too late..(i can name several historical examples but we probaly can all name one)...

wm free development tool is a good thing, but the overall direction ms is going, there are several things wrong and we all know it, unfortunately it all comes down to ignorant mass and what they want and their lack of knowledge (that can be taken advantage of) that drives it alll.

There are few options now when it comes to tethering on the android platform. There is PDANet, one other paid tethering app, and a few free apps.

iGO8 is on Android The same maps you use on other platforms work on Android as well. http://www.igomyway.com/android/en/overview.html

Can't say much about any aviation moving map softwares, but I believe Pilot My-Cast is one of the options, and it's available for Android.

This quote is interesting. While I'm sure it's nice to believe there is something wrong with everyone that doesn't share your preference for Windows Mobile....... but why can't anyone recognize that maybe Microsoft has possible just executed the greatest Folly on the mobile platform? Create a market, lead innovation, and then lose it all to new guys in a matter of years.

Sure it is a good platform..... but it's not as good as it can be. Microsoft has been resting on it's laurels and hasn't breathed any real effort in the platform or released anything that was great since WM 5.0. Apple and other makes have filled a gap the consumers have been wanting for a long time.... smart phone usability. They delivered and the market responded. Not sure how that makes users ignorant.... to me it just shows Microsoft's indifference to a market that is becoming more and more important (mobile).

The only ignorance I've really seen is the blind fan boi comments flying back and forth from each camps. "Platform so and so doesnt have software X, and won't for years....." without doing their own research.

Re: EVO not WORTH the switch

I think its way too early to tell if its a mistake to upgrade or not. If certain things like sling are a deal breaker, that's personal preference and so be it. Overall coming from the tp2, it's going to be a transition. There are some things I've noticed that don't work for me on the evo and work on the tp2. The are also things that the evo does much better, web browsing for one (even in 3g) is much faster for me. I haven't had the time to research them to determine if there is an app that will change that. I'm betting/hoping there is. For one, need to find a coreplayer type player for android. Anyway, the tp2 is a great device as well and I personally would be happy with either one.

You should not have to give up your EPRP plan for the phone. I still have my EPRP Family 1600 with the phone. Just paying the $10 data fee

Re: EVO not WORTH the switch

No reason to get ugly.I said if you have the money or if it does not cost you more then so be it.I am not here saying it is crap.I am saying it is not worth the 50$ a month more of my bill it would cost me.If my bill did not go up i would get 1 and still keep my tp2 for Slingbox.

But Android does not support it yet and that is a must for me.All im saying is it is not worth the switch from a good priced plan.
