What can the TP2 do that iPhone or Droid can't? - Page 6

thanks. my mistake wasnt aware of that, i didnt think tell me ever got working 100% on the tp2. how well does voice on the go work, may check them it later?

EDIT: im only seeing voice on the go for iphone, android, and blackberry as per thier website. got a link to a wm version?

Man lets be real here.. there arent any advantages unless you use office mobile.. and even so there's an app for that too. Keyboard.. with swype i can type just as fast if not more than when I had my tp2. And as far as that "SOD" issue an OTA came down the same day of release to fix it.. thats right android actually USES the ota ability to address issues. And as far as people talking about they can dual boot... a non fully functional 1.6 android??? Hardly a good way to make a comparison. When 2.2 drops this month there will be no advantages at all.. unless you're one of those few folks with fingers too big to use an on screen keyboard.

hope your loving that OTA they released yesterday...especially since their saying everywhere that if you did the OTA that was released yesterday, you wont be able to root now...

and what are you talking about, my dual boot on xandroid is 2.1 buddy

You haven't really been reading that much then. It took all of about a couple hours before someone got root over that as well. And, the root process is even easier now. BTW, no one HAS to take OTA updates. It is optional. People like options... something we rarely got with WinMo and something iPhone users will NEVER get.

I think it is a little early to be calling the Droid the winner....if you are going to compare this....at least make it a fair comparison....HD2 vs Droid is more reasonable...

My TP2 vs Hero or Moment...I will take TP2 all day long...

there are plenty of downfalls as well, but they seem to be working themselves out as the phone ages

I'm torn between the Moto Droid and TP2.

DROID PROS:

The Droid runs quicker than the TP2 and does a better job with battery life (Droid lasts two days on stock battery where TP2 only lasted for one... with an extended battery)

The extensive app store is interesting but since I've only had it for a week, I've not fully explored it

I find the Moto Droid's voice call quality superior to the TP2 ... best I've heard in a smartphone thus far. And, it connects to my car's bluetooth without funky issues. Unlike the TP2.

It's lighter in weight and slimmer than the TP2.

TP2 PROS:

TP2's keyboard is the most awesome ever. Beats Moto Droid hands down (I hate the fact that the Droid does not have dedicated number keys). I also find touch typing on the TP2 easier/more accurate compared to the Droid (frustrating to touch type with).

The TP2 syncs with Outlook (no exchange) without issues. Droid requires file conversions with Gmail, etc. PITA.

TP2 has my favorite RSS news aggregator, Viigo. Droid does not.

TP2's email pull notifications are better than the Droid: it pulls in the time increments as it was set and rings accordingly. The Droid's email system (non-Gmail) only notifies you when it feels like it, even when you set the pull time increments. Not good as a business phone. I had to use a third party email app, but it is still slower than the TP2. Very strange.

These are my observations with the Droid. It's not my main phone.
