Wimax and LTE are close enough, Clearwire is setting up Wimax so that later down the line should Sprint want to switch to LTE they can easily do that. In the latest testing verizon has done, lte usually maxes out at 16 mbps in realworld usage, though its capable of 100 mbps, Wimax is maxing out at the same in real world, but is capable of upto 70 mbps, so what is the difference?
Who cares, anyways, untill we have hardware that can truly take advantage of what those technologies offer, who cares about who has what if the maxing are speeds are so similar. Plus when Sprint finishes it rolls, anytime along that line they can choose to switch to lte, and hopefully by then hardware and battery tech can take advantage of what it can offer.
