Re: Interested in helping Linux/Android development?
Unfortunately no success with mddi.height x mddi.width of 320x320, 240x320, 320x240.
Resolutions other than 3:4 won't boot However, mddi doesn't set the native resolution that seems to be wrong here... |

Re: Interested in helping Linux/Android development?
I dont know. but for some reason, it only sets the screen size. and for the resolution and the touchscreen alignment, it has something to do with the density. thats what I read though. so, anyone had more luck than us? please share your thoughts. thanks

Re: Interested in helping Linux/Android development?
this isnt by anymeans a overnight project there is alot entailed with porting android to the treo. and with no one having any real experience with it takes even more time. as you can see there are resolution issues along with booting issues yet to be resolved.

Re: Interested in helping Linux/Android development?
yeah. it seems android developers doesn't care about the resolution issue. a 320x320 screen is just not enough for them i think.

Re: Interested in helping Linux/Android development?
Howdy all, Imagine my suprise coming back and seeing some progress finally! Would you mind posting step by step instructions here for us to follow what you've accomplished with your phone? This will allow others to get to a point where we all can experiment, hopefully some of use will make some discoveries that way. and to be clear this is only been booted successfully on the gsm version not the cdma version, correct? We'll get there everyone just gotta be patient.

Re: Interested in helping Linux/Android development?
i just bought an htc pure, so i havent been working on this as much, but yea it booted on the GSM treo pro. i dont know about the cdma version. step by step instructions are just basically unzip and place the package i uploaded onto your sd card, i didnt finish the startup.txt so your gonna have to correct some errors. but thats as far as ive gotten it so far.
but i have started to understand alot more as far as android development goes. so ill still work on this project for all you with a treo pro. one thing that may work as far as touch screen calibration goes is to delete the calibration file if you have it in your package. im gonna work on finding a different image that may boot on the treo pro into at least a 320x240 resolution because the package right now is booting at 480x640. Re: Interested in helping Linux/Android development?
Question to jasonyump. Do you have source-codes of the files submitted in #138 on page 14? Would be nice to have a look at them...
