Either way, Android for our device is probably a good length of time away. A booting kernel is only the first step. Reverse engineering drivers that aren't on any of the other devices -- well -- that's a whole new game.

I actually was looking into this as well, after playing with androkkid and being kind of let down in overall appearance/performance. I did a few searches to see how porting android was coming along, but didn't get too far because I had no idea where to start.

I have a good deal of programming experience, just need some help finding out what to actually do, Electrical Engineering degree on board. If there is something I can work on i'll be happy to help get it rolling once some drivers are out and need to be "reverse engineered" to our device.

I'm so excited that progress is being made in this area. I checked around the forum and someone has ported talk and text. So far calls can be made but only one side can be heard. Check the end of this thread-

Text, talk, data, and wifi ported to touch pro. Can't wait to see how Android works on the Treo Pro. I'll be happy if I can just try out some of the apps.
