Mobile Shell 3.x and the start button

I have tried to load both Mobile shell 3 and 3.5 on my treo pro and whenever I do the Start button takes be back to the mobile shell screen or does nothing at all. I have start menu override dissabled. Does anyone have a solution to this?

Go to Settings>Buttons and assign Start button to the Start Menu
