Re: How do you like your treo pro?

for now i'm sticking with Mobile Shell 2, since it seems like it would be less of a hog, and less complicated to have on there. I get lost with all the fiddling and customizing in 3.
I agree with Luv2Drum that there isn't that "wow" factor like the touch pro vga screen, but for the most part, it just works, and that means a lot to me.
granted, i've had my share of issues, but i'm willing to accept that is more due to programs i'm running rather than the phone itself.
But I love the one-handedness, and the 3.5 mm jack. I guess my thing is that since its windows mobile, there's just not that much "newness" to it.

Re: How do you like your treo pro?

the Treo pro is an OEM device made by HTC for Palm.. its a good device with only a few minor drawbacks - these being a small keyboard (which can make fast typing a pain) and a square 320x320 screen (which can make finding decent themes and apps a real pain). On the positive side, it's a bomb proof device with great call quality, good battery life and all the features you're ever likley to need... hope this helps

Re: How do you like your treo pro?

I made the mistake of buyin my girlfriend one ha ha....ITs a very solid phone. I own a TP and I think the treo PRo can pull some stuff better than my TP. Its very good on battery and screen is pretty responsive. Now, Imma try to convince her to let me flash it.

Re: How do you like your treo pro?

It's the best WinMo phone I've used. The hardware is refined and personally I don't like the TouchFlo and other "fancy" launchers some phones have on them. Now with the unlocker and 6.5 ROMs it's actually a really great balance of usefulness/business and aesthetics, imo.

The addition of WMWifiRouter makes it one of the most invaluable gadget in my bag, for sure.

If I didn't have a SERO plan, I'd be on a Pre, and if I wanted to blow $75+/month on a cell plan I'd have an iPhone, but for what I pay the Pro is certainly the best phone out there (for my needs).

Re: How do you like your treo pro?

I absolutely love this phone... Has everything I need, GPS, WiFi, physical keyboard, touchscreen, a stylus... its perfect. Always been a Palm fan and started off with a Treo 680... The webOS emulation that was released by that team (cant remember their name) to run on PalmOS devices was awesome... But I got over it and went with the Treo Pro as soon as it was available to Canada. After playing with it I eventually got on with SPB Mobile Shell and love that interface... Where your icons are like gadgets, you can move them anywhere and whatnot. Seems to hog a lot of resources in the phone though.

Then of course came along cmonex and Cfay who had to make the phone better but releasing ROMs and a hard spl... The phone has been that much more incredible... The phone is now significantly faster and the minor bugs it had have been easily tweaked out.

Also the phone is slim, shiny, light... and has a 3.5mm jack... its perfect. Just bought a new battery too on ebay... This one here: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?...m=350246919035

and currently waiting its arrival

Overall, really happy with the phone... but lets face it... If i wasnt in this contract with Telus... Id have a Pre

Re: How do you like your treo pro?

I've been really happy with my Treo Pro. It's easily the best phone I've ever owned. I've been considering jumping ship for the Touch Pro 2, but I'm just not sure that I want to trade the one-handed nature and slimmer form of the Treo Pro for the bulkiness (of the Touch Pro 2.

Re: How do you like your treo pro?

My Treo Pro is awesome, I love it. Previously I had a Treo 700wx, which was one of the best phones I've used, then I upgraded to the Treo 800 (was bettter than 700wx, too many problems though, they discontinued the model), once Sprint couldn't fix the Treo 800 anymore, they upgraded me to the Treo Pro, and now the 700wx feels like it was made in the 70's! It's very customizable so you wont get bored. The standard programs work great. Comes standard with a backup program (Sprite, plus syncs flawlessly with Windows XP) so you never loose any info. Can download tons of freeware to make things even more interesting. The device combined with the freeware additions, you pretty much can do everything the latest Palm can do (minus the user interface of the webOS) so you dont have to keep upgrading every year something bigger and better comes out (even though you will be tempted too!). If you use a PC, it pretty much can almost do all of the functions except make Powerpoints (could pay for a program if you really wanted too).
My 2 cents.

Re: How do you like your treo pro?

So I have only had the phone for....5 hours or so but I am LOVING it so far!! I am honestly only planning on sticking with it for a couple months until it's upgrade time, but my issues with the Diamond and Touch Pro brought me here and I am very happy so far.

I wasn't sure at first on the ride home, but once I got it unlocked and flashed to 6.5 I am ecstatic! I am working on finding a full Opera Mobile that will work well, mine keeps crashing, but Skyfire is great here and I am going to try Opera Mini. The keyboard is perfect for me since I don't have big fingers. I am very happy with the swap, especially since it was free, well I think it cost me a lot of smiling LOL!!

Re: How do you like your treo pro?

I love my treo pro. I've been doing some of these hacks and tweaks and I LOVE IT. Anything that you don't like on this phone or want on your phone you can basically get so long as you understand the device your in. Battery life on it is amazing even when you have the adds on them. The feel is sleek and comfortable and easy to use. It is definitely a good phone to get into . Also if you prefer newer windows like windows 6.5 you can get the Intrepid which has that already on the phone. So many possabilities.

Mine has ... no quirks... Zero...
Get it fixed, because you probably bought a dud. Wouldn't surprise be being from Craigslist and all...
