Help keeping GPS alive when Keyguard engaged

I have a brand new Treo Pro, and love the phone, including the keyguard feature. I use my phone for various GPS options, including GPSTuner (the old version since the new version requires 64MB to run properly) and iGuidance.

The problem is that when I engage Keyguard to close the screen and lock the keyboard, the GPS loses signal, and the GPS application I am running no longer track my movements. GPS starts fine when I wake up the device, but I would love to be able to lock the keyboard and close the screen without shutting down the GPS receiver.

Does anybody know how to do this: to keep the GPS active while the screen is closed and the keyboard and buttons are locked? It seems like we should be able to do this, because the radio stays active to recieve calls while Keyguard is engaged, so we should be able to do it with the GPS.

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
